MLB insider Jon Heyman is reporting that star shortstop Francisco Lindor and the New York Mets have agreed to a contract extension worth approximately $340 million. ESPN's Jeff Passan adds that the deal is for 10 years and $341 million, while Joel Sherman of the New York Post is reporting that the deal includes a partial no-trade clause and about $50 million worth of deferrals. Fantasy Impact:
Heyman adds that the 10-year deal begins in 2022, so Lindor technically has $362.3 million coming to him over the next 11 years. Lindor had a down year by his standards in 2020, but he hit 103 home runs and stole 62 bases from 2017-2019 while proving to be one of the most consistent hitters in all of baseball.
