According to Jerry Crasnick, the Seattle Mariners have acquired outfielder Seth Smith from the San Diego Padres in exchange for relief pitcher, Brandon Maurer.

According to the Dominican newspaper Rojas cites, Cruz is scheduled to leave for the United States shortly for a physical and to finalize the deal.
