Matt Shoemaker couldn't make it out of the eight inning on Monday as the Yankees scored three times to win 5-2. Shoemaker allowed two runners to reach before being lifted for Jose Alvarez who proceeded to give up a three run homer to Carlos Beltran. Shoemaker was on the hook for four runs over 7.2 innings allowing eight hits and striking out six without walking a batter. His ERA is now set at 5.40

Matt Shoemaker allowed three earned runs in five innings of work on Monday in a 7-6 victory over the Dodgers. Shoemaker struck out five while allowing six hits and two walks. His ERA was lowered to 8.49 for the season and now has a 2-5 record.

Chase Headley went 2-for-3 and hit his first home run of the year in a 7-3 victory over the Royals. Headley took starter Ian Kennedy deep in the second inning and added another run scored in the seventh. He is now hitting .194 for the season.

Starlin Castro went 2-for-4 with a home run and two RBI in a 7-3 victory over the Royals. Castro home run came in the first inning off starter Ian Kennedy and added a RBI single in the seventh. He is hitting .308 for the year with four home runs and 14 RBI.

Jered Weaver gives up eight runs in loss photo
Jered Weaver went four innings and gave up eight earned runs in a 12-10 loss to the Cardinals on Thursday night. Weaver struck out five and allowed nine hits with three of them being home runs. He is now 3-2 on the season with an awful 6.10 ERA.

Nick Tropeano strikes out 10 in loss photo
Angels pitcher Nick Tropeano struck out 10 batters, but gave up two home runs that accounted for all three earned runs in a 3-1 loss to Tampa Bay on Sunday. Tropeano went 5 and 1/3 innings while giving up seven hits and two walks and his ERA rose to 3.69 for the year.

Andrew Heaney placed on disabled list with strained UCL photo
According to Jeff Passan of Yahoo, Left-hander Andrew Heaney has a been dealing with a strained muscle flexor and looks to be a lot worse which could lead to Tommy John surgery. Heaney is going to try and rehab the injury with hopes he does not need surgery. Heaney only made one start this year, giving up six runs and taking the loss to the Cubs on April 5.
Garrett Richards has torn UCL in right arm photo
As first reported by John Passan of Yahoo, Garrett Richards has a torn ulnar collateral ligament in his right elbow and is expected to need Tommy John surgery. Richards left his previous start to what they were calling dehydration and his start today was in question with fatigue. The 27-year-old was 1-3 on the year with a 2.34 ERA.
Hector Santiago settles for no-decision on Wednesday photo
Hector Santiago went 5 1/3 innings allowing three earned runs taking a no-decision in a Angels victory over the Brewers. Santiago struck out four while walking four and now has a 3.58 ERA for the season.

Yankees second baseman Starlin Castro went 2-for-4 in a 8-7 loss to the Red Sox on Sunday night. He hit fifth in the order and had a single and a double with a run scored. Castro is now hitting .326/.512/.363 for the season. He has hits in seven of his last eight games.
