How many teams want a second baseman that can hit 40-plus home runs? Apparently, several if you listen to Darren Wolfson of 5 Eyewitness News in Minnesota. Wolfson reports the Dodgers, along with the Cardinals as teams very much in the running to acquire the slugging second-sacker, with the Giants and Nationals also keenly interested.

Will Mike Napoli return to the Rangers for a third time? photo
The Texas Rangers continue to pursue power this off-season, and that might lead to another reunion with free-agent Mike Napoli. Napoli, who played for the Rangers in 2011-12 and again in 2015, is coming off a solid year for the American League champion Cleveland Indians. The slugger mashed 34 home runs and drove in 101. The downside, of course, is a batting average that hovered in the .230 range most of the season.

Edwin Encarnacion signs three-year deal with Cleveland photo
Free-agent slugger Edwin Encarnacion has reportedly inked a three-year, $65 million contract with the Cleveland Indians with an option for 2020. Encarnacion, who will turn 34 in January, hit .263 with 42 home runs and 127 RBI last season.

Rangers claim David Rollins off waivers...again photo
For the second time in two months, the Texas Rangers have claimed left-handed reliever David Rollins off of waivers. Rollins was claimed off waivers by the Rangers on Nov. 22, then the Phillies claimed him from Texas on Dec. 2. He is now back with Texas, but who knows for how long.
