Chris Owings remained scalding hot, going 2-for-4 Monday as one of the few bright spots for the Diamondbacks in their 10-2 loss to the Dodgers. In four September games, Owings is 10-for-15 and has raised his batting average to .290. He also drove in a run for the third straight game, bringing his season total to 35.

Zack Greinke allowed eight runs in 4 2/3 innings Monday in a 10-2 loss to the Dodgers. Greinke cruised through the first three innings before allowing five home runs in the next 1 2/3 innings. The outing raised Greinke's ERA for the season to 4.54. One small silver lining for fantasy owners was Greinke struck out six and did not walk anyone.

Jean Segura went 3-for-5 with a double and his 28th stolen base of the season in a loss Wednesday against the San Francisco Giants. Segura had his best month of the season in August, hitting .346/.391/.561.

Shelby Miller gave up two earned runs over six innings in his first major league start since July 6 against the San Francisco Giants Wednesday. Miller had been pitching in Triple-A Reno since then, working on his mechanics and confidence after an abysmal first half of the season. Miller gave up one walk and struck out three in his outing, throwing 67 of his 97 pitches for strikes.

Diamondbacks starting pitcher Shelby Miller will be recalled from Triple-A Reno and get the nod against the San Francisco Giants in a road game Wednesday, according to azcentral.com's Nick Piecoro. Miller's performance improved significantly after his demotion, compiling a 55/10 K/BB ratio in 50 innings and earning rave reviews from Reno manager Phil Nevin.

A.J. Pollock did not play a regular-season game in 2016 until Friday and did not have a hit until Sunday, but picked up three base hits in the win over the Reds and added two stolen bases and two runs.

Yasmany Tomas hit two solo home runs Friday, giving him four in the past three games and 21 for the season. Since July 16, Tomas is hitting .377 (23-for-61) with six doubles and eight home runs, bringing his season average from .249 to .271.

David Peralta went 2-for-4 in the Diamondbacks' loss against the Nationals Wednesday. It was the first multi-hit game for Peralta since coming off the disabled list July 29. He is now hitting .253 for the season with four home runs in 166 at-bats.

Jake Lamb hit his 23rd home run of the season off the Nationals' Max Scherzer Wednesday.The solo shot was his only hit in a 1-for-4 game. Lamb is currently third among MLB third basemen with a .949 OPS.

Jean Segura is out of the starting lineup Wednesday. Segura has played every game since the Diamondbacks' last day off on July 21. Arizona is off tomorrow, giving the 26-year-old two days of rest barring any substitution today. Segura is currently hitting .310/.360/.453.
