Takeaways save the Packers' defense

by Eric Anderson | Packers Correspondent | Mon, Sep 29th 3:40pm EDT

Packers create turnovers on a day when the defense couldn't get much else right. The team gave up 496 yards to the Chicago Bears, including 235 on the ground. It was their worst yardage performance since giving up 561 to Detroit last Thanksgiving. (ESPN)

Fantasy Impact:

The turnovers are nice to see, but Chicago Bears runnings backs Matt Forte and Kadeem Carey were able to put together a 5.2 average on 37 attempts. However, the Packers secondary did contain Chicago's dangerous WR duo of Brandon Marshall and Alshon Jeffrey, holding them to 58 yards on 6 receptions combined. Maybe they can catch their breath against the Vikings in Week 5 at Lambeau Field. But, fantasy owners should not feel good about starting this unit for the foreseeable future.
