The 49ers defense is tough, but Rodgers averaged 280 yards passing, 2 touchdowns and 1 interception in two games against them last season. It's nearly impossible to run on them so Rodgers will need to pass the ball.
The Seahawks pass defense is possibly the best in the league. Last season in SeattleNewton passed for a paltry 141 yards against them and rushed for 42 with no touchdowns. For the season only two quarterbacks passed for over 300 yards against them, Tom Brady and Matthew Stafford. They also only allowed over 2 touchdowns to a quarterback one time and that was also to Stafford. Thankfully Newton is at home this time around and last year he was horrible early in the season. And he's still a th...

NFL Soup
Rodgers' offensive line had trouble keeping him off the turf in 2012, yet he was still able to put up massive numbers. He doesn't turn the ball over, and he should once again be in the neighborhood of 40 TD passes.
Newton's passing numbers weren't as gaudy in 2012 as they were during his rookie 2011 season, but his status as a dual-threat QB is the reason he's this high. He's rushed for 22 TDs and over 1,400 yards in two seasons as a pro.

Kevin Roberts
Breaking Football
The matchup is rough on the road, but 49ers' weakness is in the air. A-Rod should still be top-5.
Newton has insane upside and is at home, but Seahawks are brutal and Panthers have been terrible on O all summer.

Tozzi Brothers
Legion Report
Rodgers shreds even the best of pass defenses and I wouldn’t expect it to change in 2013. Anticipate another MVP worthy campaign, along with replay after replay of “WWF Championship Belt” celebrations. Even with Greg Jennings out of GB, don’t expect Rodgers to miss a beat.
After a phenomenal 2011 season, 2012 was a bit of a regression. Cam doesn’t rack up passing yards like other QBs, but his value is in the running game. Look for Newton to see about 600-700 rushing yards and 7-9 rushing TDs.

Jon Collins
Fantasy Sports LR

It wasn't an overly nice preseason and a matchup against Seattle isn't a favorable way for Mike Shula's offense to start... but, by virtue of his legs, at worst, Newton should be a factor.

Jeff Boggis
Fantasy Football Empire
Green Bay will have a hard time establishing the run, and will be forced to pass. San Francisco gave up the 9th fewest fantasy points to Quarterbacks last season with 14.6.
Seattle gave up the fewest fantasy points to Quarterbacks last season with 11.4.

Derek Lofland
Fantasy Football Maniax
Rodgers did not have monster games against the 49ers, but he still combined for 560 yards passing and 4 passing touchdowns against the 49ers last year. Given Rodgers is arguably going to be the best fantasy quarterback in the NFL this year, he is still a QB1.
Cam is a very talented player and will have a huge fantasy season, but not this week. Cam had just 141 yards passing, 42 yards rushing and no passing or rushing touchdowns against the Seahawks last year. I expect better numbers than that this year, but he is a QB2 in the opener.

Super Cam would be higher if the Panthers would just get him a legit 2nd receiver

Rodgers lost Greg Jennings to the Vikings, what he did gain is JerMichael Finley in a contract year to go with the second best 3 man WR crew in the NFL. Look for Rodgers to use his legs and arm to be a dynamic QB that can easily lead the league in points.
Super Cam really turned it up at the end of last season playing like the 1st round pick we know he could be. The Panthers are going with Don Schula as their head coach, which has led to a bromance between the star QB. Something we never saw with Ron Rivera. This offense is geared towards Cam being a super hero.
