He averaged 26 points against the Giants in 2012. Look for a strong start in a divisional matchup.
Jordan Tozzi
Legion Report
Not the 10th best QB in the NFL, but on a fantasy perspective, there is no denying Romo’s ability to rack up points. Yes, he will burn you with games where he tosses 2-3 INTs, but Romo will also have games where he rolls up 300 yards and 3 TDs. The big play ability of Dez Bryant and Jason Witten gives Romo stable options from week to week. If you miss on the big boys, Romo is still considered lightly elite. After a phenomenal 2011 season, 2012 was a bit of a regression. Cam doesn’t rack up passing yards like other QBs, but his value is in the running game. Look for Newton to see about 600-700 rushing yards and 7-9 rushing TDs.
Kevin Roberts
Breaking Football
Romo is always a candidate for a big game at home, but Giants can have his # from time to time.Newton has insane upside and is at home, but Seahawks are brutal and Panthers have been terrible on O all summer.
Taylor Smith
NFL Soup
Romo put up massive numbers last year, as he was essentially tasked with getting the Cowboys out of big-time deficits all season long. If the offensive line play can improve over where it was in 2012 (low hurdle), Romo should be in for another big season.Newton's passing numbers weren't as gaudy in 2012 as they were during his rookie 2011 season, but his status as a dual-threat QB is the reason he's this high. He's rushed for 22 TDs and over 1,400 yards in two seasons as a pro.
Jon Collins
Fantasy Sports LR
It wasn't an overly nice preseason and a matchup against Seattle isn't a favorable way for Mike Shula's offense to start... but, by virtue of his legs, at worst, Newton should be a factor.
Raju Byfield
Win My Fantasy League
Additions of Williams, Randle help solve depth issues, can keep going strong even if injuries at RB and WR strike; make no mistake Romo is still a high floor QB1Super Cam would be higher if the Panthers would just get him a legit 2nd receiver
Chet Gresham
The Fake Football
Romo has always put up good fantasy numbers against the Giants. For his career he's averaging 269 yards passing and 2.7 touchdowns. Last year he averaged 372 yards passing and two touchdowns. He also threw a whole load of interceptions, but if he plays anything like last year’s season opener he's a top QB this week. The Seahawks pass defense is possibly the best in the league. Last season in SeattleNewton passed for a paltry 141 yards against them and rushed for 42 with no touchdowns. For the season only two quarterbacks passed for over 300 yards against them, Tom Brady and Matthew Stafford. They also only allowed over 2 touchdowns to a quarterback one time and that was also to Stafford. Thankfully Newton is at home this time around and last year he was horrible early in the season. And he's still a th...
Jeff Boggis
Fantasy Sports Empire
New York Giants gave up the 10th most fantasy points to Quarterbacks last season with 18.5.Seattle gave up the fewest fantasy points to Quarterbacks last season with 11.4.
Derek Lofland
Fantasy Football Maniax
Romo had 747 passing yards in 2 games against the Giants last year, so he figures to have a big yardage day in the opener. The question is will he throw 3 touchdowns and 1 pick like he did in New York last year or 1 touchdown and 4 picks like he did in Dallas last year.Cam is a very talented player and will have a huge fantasy season, but not this week. Cam had just 141 yards passing, 42 yards rushing and no passing or rushing touchdowns against the Seahawks last year. I expect better numbers than that this year, but he is a QB2 in the opener.

Dez will torch the NYG secondary.
Muntradamus
Beast Dome
Romo still has the second best WR duo in the league of Austin Miles and Dez Bryant, along with star TE Jason Witten. You put Tom Brady with that group, and Tom Brady is probably the #1 QB in 2013. But this is Tony Romo, and Romo will make bad throws and fail when you need him the most. The offense is going to try running the ball more this season, which they should. But Romo will still get that 300 Yard/2 TD game more often than not.Super Cam really turned it up at the end of last season playing like the 1st round pick we know he could be. The Panthers are going with Don Schula as their head coach, which has led to a bromance between the star QB. Something we never saw with Ron Rivera. This offense is geared towards Cam being a super hero.
