Brees had 298 yards passing and 3 passing touchdowns against the Falcons last year and he has at least 3 touchdowns in a home game against Atlanta was the 2009 season. This game figures to be a shootout.
Romo had 747 passing yards in 2 games against the Giants last year, so he figures to have a big yardage day in the opener. The question is will he throw 3 touchdowns and 1 pick like he did in New York last year or 1 touchdown and 4 picks like he did in Dallas last year.

Kevin Roberts
Breaking Football
Brees is typically in the top three and this one could be a shootout at home.
Romo is always a candidate for a big game at home, but Giants can have his # from time to time.

Staff Rankings
FFLockerRoom
With the Saints back a full strength Brees will be ready to exhaust his many weapons.

Chet Gresham
The Fake Football
In 15 games against Atlanta Brees has averaged 300 yards passing and 2 touchdowns per game. That's pretty amazing for that many games. He hasn't averaged over 300 yards passing against any team he's faced more than 5 times. He's easily my #1 pick this week with Rodgers heading to San Francisco.
Romo has always put up good fantasy numbers against the Giants. For his career he's averaging 269 yards passing and 2.7 touchdowns. Last year he averaged 372 yards passing and two touchdowns. He also threw a whole load of interceptions, but if he plays anything like last year’s season opener he's a top QB this week.

Staff Rankings

Possible Sean Payton Vengeance factor.
Dez will torch the NYG secondary.

Raju Byfield
Win My Fantasy League
If you decide to take a 1st round QB plunge Brees is the name to call
Additions of Williams, Randle help solve depth issues, can keep going strong even if injuries at RB and WR strike; make no mistake Romo is still a high floor QB1

Jeff Boggis
Fantasy Football Empire
This game is going to be a shootout and both Matt Ryan and Drew Brees are going to have big passing games in week 1. Atlanta gave up the 7th fewest fantasy points to Quarterbacks last season with 13.6.
New York Giants gave up the 10th most fantasy points to Quarterbacks last season with 18.5.

Taylor Smith
NFL Soup
Brees throws more picks than does Rodgers, but that's the only thing that really separates the two. With Sean Payton back on the sidelines, Brees and the Saints should rebound from a subpar '12 season.
Romo put up massive numbers last year, as he was essentially tasked with getting the Cowboys out of big-time deficits all season long. If the offensive line play can improve over where it was in 2012 (low hurdle), Romo should be in for another big season.

Tozzi Brothers
Legion Report
Sean Payton is back. Brees had a monster season last year even with the coaching situation being a complete cluster. Brees and Rodgers are neck and neck giving a 1A – 1B type ranking.
Not the 10th best QB in the NFL, but on a fantasy perspective, there is no denying Romo’s ability to rack up points. Yes, he will burn you with games where he tosses 2-3 INTs, but Romo will also have games where he rolls up 300 yards and 3 TDs. The big play ability of Dez Bryant and Jason Witten gives Romo stable options from week to week. If you miss on the big boys, Romo is still considered lightly elite.

Muntradamus
Beast Dome
The Saints still have a terrible defense. Which means Drew Brees and that Saints offense will have to put up over 30 Points consistently. Colston/Moore/Graham will all be solid fantasy options as Drew is the safest 4,500 Yards in the NFL. Saints say they are going to run the ball more..maybe if it was 08' and Deuce McAllister was the RB. This is the Drew Brees show.
Romo still has the second best WR duo in the league of Austin Miles and Dez Bryant, along with star TE Jason Witten. You put Tom Brady with that group, and Tom Brady is probably the #1 QB in 2013. But this is Tony Romo, and Romo will make bad throws and fail when you need him the most. The offense is going to try running the ball more this season, which they should. But Romo will still get that 300 Yard/2 TD game more often than not.

Fantasy Football Freaks

He averaged 26 points against the Giants in 2012. Look for a strong start in a divisional matchup.
