With more and more fantasy owners opting to wait on the quarterback and tight end positions in drafts, streaming each position has become a viable option. This is made easier by the fact that there are usually solid options on the waiver wire. Each week this column will scour the waiver wire and look for quarterbacks and tight ends who are less than 50% owned and could be worth starting for your fantasy team. All ownership percentages come from Yahoo fantasy leagues.

Quarterback
Blake Bortles – Jacksonville Jaguars (43% owned)
vs. Buffalo Bills
Bortles is currently the seventh highest scoring fantasy quarterback, yet he’s still sitting out there in over half of Yahoo leagues. He has made a big step forward this season and is benefitting from having Allen Robinson, Allen Hurns, and Julius Thomas around to make big plays for him. Bortles is worth streaming this week in what shapes up as a plus matchup for the second-year quarterback. Buffalo is allowing the tenth-most fantasy points in the league to opposing signal callers and their stout run defense all but guarantees that Jacksonville will have to throw often in the game.
Derek Carr – Oakland Raiders (35% owned)
@ San Diego Chargers
There’s a chance Carr was cut loose during his Week 6 bye and he could be available, even in deeper leagues. At first glance, it appears that San Diego poses a tough challenge for quarterbacks as they rank twenty-third in the league in fantasy points allowed to the position. The Chargers aren’t all that great against the pass, it’s just that they have been so bad against the run that most teams don’t need to throw against them. Carr has blossomed into a solid fantasy option in his second season and may be worth keeping around even after Week 7.
Tight End
Heath Miller – Pittsburgh Steelers (35% owned)
@ Kansas City Chiefs
Miller is only a streaming option if Ben Roethlisberger comes back in Week 7, as the Pittsburgh passing attack has been brutal without Big Ben at the helm. Miller has long been one of Roethlisberger’s favorite targets and he began the season with a bang as he caught 10 passes for 99 yards and a touchdown over the first two weeks. He has slowed down since Roethlisberger’s injury, but the potential for a big game remains for the veteran tight end.
Ben Watson – New Orleans Saints (10% owned)
@ Indianapolis Colts
Watson went nuts against the Falcons in Week 6 with 10 catches for 127 yards and one touchdown. It is unlikely that he will replicate a performance like that any time soon, but he is a solid option for Drew Brees in the passing game and one of the team’s better red zone targets. He’s worth taking a look at if you are desperate for a tight end this weekend.
