MLB’s crop of prospects has already produced quality big leaguers this season

I heard your plea for help. You hate waiting until July for the mid-season top 100 lists and worse, having to use the same tired top prospect lists. As always, there have been some huge risers in the prospect world, and this list will enable you to grab that information each month while your competitors are shuffling through the same outdated lists from February.

This league doesn’t include international players or high school and college amateurs, like my preseason Worldwide Top 400 Prospects list, but you can find separate lists below the top 100 with those names and where they would fit into the top 100 today. Now be mindful, if a guy like Alfredo Despaigne leaves Cuba and is declared a free agent, he would immediately jump from ~160 to ~20, so those rankings take into account the likelihood (and timing) that they might make the jump to the big leagues.

Next week I’ll be highlighting a dozen of the top risers thus far in the season, so keep an eye out for that, especially if you have no idea who Yohander Mendez is and want to know why he was even mentioned in this piece. Before I give you the top 100, these are the players I am graduating from consideration and where they would rank, had they been eligible for the list today.
