Jeremy Langford (CHI)
Most of the names below are probably going to feel more ‘deep sleeper’ than Langford, but he is coming in around 29 on FantasyPros’ Expert Consensus Rankings, so despite some loving his value this year, that’s considered a sleeper, folks! That’s almost near the end of all the RB3 players, yet he has RB1-type appeal. Take advantage of this ADP in fresh startup drafts, and try to acquire him at this value in existing dynasty leagues.
Also, his redraft value will likely be the same. There is no RB ranked this late, again RB29 on the consensus rankings, that has such a huge ceiling (RB1 value). I wouldn’t be shocked if he danced in the top 5-10 for RBs in 2016; he has that much upside (and clearly little risk given his current ADP/consensus value).
Wendell Smallwood (PHI)
The guy is ranking in around 54 for all RBs on FantasyPros’ Expert Consensus Rankings. This is awesome value, and honestly, it feels a little too low, meaning you may not find him this undervalued in real life. I expect more experts to rank this guy higher as we near August, which will bring him up a bit, but this is still a great indication that the rusher is undervalued right now in all formats.
He should be attainable at RB40-50 value in all formats, and even that isn’t an overpay at all. Ryan Mathews is the penciled-in starter in Philly, but there is a ton of opportunity for Smallwood to jump into the mix and impress. Despite being 208 pounds, he is 5-10, and he has more every-down back appeal than most give him credit for.
Last season at West Virginia, Smallwood posted 1,519 rushing yards, 26 receptions for 160 yards and 9 TDs. He led the Big 12 in rushing in 2015 and proved that he is a speedster at the combine, dropping a 4.47 forty. He also added a 10-foot broad jump.
The runner is in a good landing spot, and he is in Philly (as he sits behind only Darren Sproles and current starter Ryan Mathews). He is an extremely strong rusher, has huge potential in the receiving game, and he appears to already have the confidence of his coaching staff (as an every down back). I love both Smallwood’s dynasty and redraft value; he could be one of the biggest fantasy football running back stashes in all of 2016 (not just for rookies)!
He is a stash, though, as he isn’t starting yet, as he currently sits third on the Eagles’ depth chart. Value is the key here, folks, so acquire him on the cheap, that’s the point!
