Jacquizz Rodgers should have a fine game against the lax 49ers’ run defense

Welcome to the Week 7 edition of the FanDuel value plays. The Week 7 main slate on FanDuel features 12 games.

This week features numerous, solid value options that can be used confidently in cash games and free up some salary for some of the top tier options. Let’s go ahead and take a look at my favorite value options for Week 7.

Quarterback

Colin Kaepernick (SF): $6,500 vs. TB
Kaepernick did not look spectacular throwing the ball in his season debut with only 187 passing yards and only completing 13 of his 29 passing attempts. However, he did run eight times for 66 yards. Kaepernick has a much easier matchup against the Buccaneers in Week 7, and if he continues to run the ball, he should be able to easily return value at this salary.

Running Back

Jacquizz Rodgers (TB): $5,600 at SF
Rodgers had 30 carries for 101 and five receptions for 28 yards. Although it is unlikely he will see 30 carries again this week, he should still see at least 20 against the fast-paced 49ers.

Also, his efficiency will likely be better since the 49ers have not played well against the run this season. Through six games, the 49ers have allowed five yards per carry, which is tied with the Redskins for the worst in the NFL.

Spencer Ware (KC): $7,000 vs. NO
Ware had a monster game in Week 6 scoring a touchdown and gaining 163 yards on 24 rushing attempts and two receptions. It is possible that Jamaal Charles will eat into his carries a little bit more this week, but Ware should still see the bulk of the carries against a dreadful Saints’ defense. The Saints have allowed the most FanDuel points to running backs this season.

Other Notables

Wide Receiver

Jeremy Maclin (KC): $6,800 vs. NO
Maclin did not have a good game against the Raiders in Week 6, but that was mostly due to the Chiefs having a decent lead in the second-half. Maclin still leads the Chiefs in targets and receiving yards, and he should be able to bounce back against the Saints, who are also terrible at defending wide receivers.

DeSean Jackson (WAS): $6,500 at DET
Jackson only had four receptions for 55 yards in Week 6, but he could have had a massive game if he did not drop a 32-yard touchdown. If Jordan Reed is out again, Jackson could have a huge game against the Lions, who have allowed nine receiving touchdowns to wide receivers this season.

Marqise Lee (JAC): $4,500 vs. OAK
Lee could be an interesting value, GPP option this week against the Raiders. Over the past four weeks, he has had at least six targets in each game and at least five receptions in three of those games. If he can just find the end zone one time against the putrid Raiders’ secondary, he could be a huge difference maker in your GPP contest.

Other Notables

Tight End

Jack Doyle (IND): $4,700 at TEN
It appears that Dwayne Allen could be out this week against the Titans with a neck injury. If that’s the case, Doyle will be an excellent value option.

Back in Week 1, when Allen exited the game early, Doyle had two touchdowns. With Donte Moncrief still out and Phillip Dorsett being ineffective, Doyle could make a huge impact in Week 7.

Other Notables

Kicker

Josh Lambo (SD): $4,600 at ATL
Lambo has been pretty reliable over the past few weeks with double-digit points in three out of his four last games. Vegas is currently projecting this game to be the highest scoring game in Week 7, so Lambo should be in a great position to put up a decent chunk of points again.

Other Notables

D/ST

New England Patriots (NE): $4,400 vs. PIT
It was announced earlier in the week that Ben Roethlisberger will miss a few weeks with a knee injury, which means Landry Jones will take over at quarterback for the Steelers. Jones filled in for Roethlisberger for a couple of games in 2015, and the Steelers’ offense was not nearly as explosive, and Antonio Brown was not nearly as involved. If the Patriots can just focus on shutting down Le’Veon Bell, they should be able to have a productive day defensively.

Other Notables

  • Philadelphia Eagles (PHI): $4,400 vs. MIN
