We’ll kick off our Thanksgiving lineup with an unlikely name at quarterback. It was recently announced that Andrew Luck will miss this week’s game against the Steelers due to his concussion leaving Scott Tolzien to start for the Colts. There’s certainly risk involved, but rostering the minimum-priced Tolzien allows you to spend up elsewhere, as we’ll see. Also, the matchup isn’t awful considering the Colts are at home against a susceptible Steelers’ secondary in a game where they’re expected to need to throw a bunch.

We’ll immediately see the benefits of using a lower-priced QB such as Tolzien with our RB selections. The salary relief presented at QB allows us to roster the top two RBs, and they are head and shoulders above the other options this holiday. It will be hard to fade Le’Veon Bell on the short slate considering the matchup and projected game flow. Ezekiel Elliott doesn’t have quite the caliber of matchup that Bell sees, but Elliott should continue to be fed by the Cowboys.

We’re able to pay up for the top two RBs and the top WR this week, as we’ll roster Antonio Brown against the Colts. With Dez Bryant expected to see a healthy dose of Josh Norman this week, Brown checks in as easily the top WR option on the Thanksgiving slate. Along with Brown, Stefon Diggs and Jamison Crowder round out this WR group. Diggs continues to see a heavy target share for the Vikings, and Crowder has produced week in and week out despite his reduced salary.

Kyle Rudolph gets the nod at TE, as he’ll face a Detroit Lions‘ defense that has struggled against the position. Dan Bailey is our consensus top kicker this week. We’re going a bit against the grain on defense, as Pittsburgh is expected to be the highest-owned D/ST on the Thanksgiving slate considering the matchup with Tolzien. While using the Steelers isn’t out of the question even if you are rostering Tolzien, we’ll roll with the Minnesota Vikings. the Vikings should see lower than normal ownership given the other options and showed Week 11 that they still carry significant upside.
