Preparing for Fantasy Football Playoffs: Week 11

Tyrod Taylor is a QB streaming option who could help fantasy owners greatly down the stretch

I’m back again to help you dominate your fantasy playoffs or at least help you secure your spot in the playoffs so you can make a run for your championship! In my last playoffs article, I highlighted some players that you could target and hopefully acquire to better your chances of getting into and winning your fantasy playoffs which we will continue to do this week.

Now, this may seem obvious, but don’t go trading away your best players for any of these players that I mention in these articles. You’re probably not going to do well in the playoffs if you trade Tom Brady for Philip Rivers just because his schedule is better. However, if you can upgrade a position or even swap equal talents for some of these players that I highlight then that is the ultimate goal.

Some of these players may even be on your waiver wire, and that would be the ideal scenario! My point is don’t break the bank trying to acquire someone with a better playoff schedule because you always start your studs regardless. That being said, let’s take a look at a few more players that could help you down the stretch.

Tyrod Taylor (QB – BUF): 58.1% owned
Taylor has been quietly building a nice fantasy season by already racking up just over 1,700 passing yards, almost 400 rushing yards, 14 total TDs and only four turnovers (3 INTs, 1 FUM). You can likely pick him up and play him immediately with a good matchup coming this week against Cincinnati and you can definitely play him in good matchups moving forward. Speaking of which, Taylor does not have any tough matchups for the rest of the season (ROS) and has a few good matchups against Cincinnati, Oakland, Cleveland and the New York Jets.

For those that employ a QB streaming strategy, Taylor is definitely an option that you could plug-and-play and he’ll help you down the stretch. Oh, and let’s also not forget that Sammy Watkins could possibly return in a couple of weeks which would only be good news for Taylor.

Latavius Murray (RB – OAK): 94.7% owned
Now, I am not encouraging you to try and trade for Murray right now because the buying price will be astronomical after his offensive explosion against Denver. However, if you wait one or two weeks, Murray’s price should drop and you should be able to acquire him. I actually wrote about how Murray will be an RB1 for ROS and he’s got a favorable playoff schedule that could help you win your league championship.

Murray has matchups against San Diego and Indianapolis in Weeks 15 and 16 which is right in the middle of the fantasy playoffs. Again, wait to target Murray until after he has a tough matchup against Carolina and then buy-low on him to help win your championship!

Emmanuel Sanders (WR – DEN): 96.9% owned
Unlike Murray, Sanders is probably someone that you could buy low on right now and he could definitely help you in the playoff stretch. Sanders has been disappointing owners and they might be willing to trade him because Sanders has failed to find the end zone since Week 4.

However, Sanders is someone that could help you win your championship because Sanders is tied for the second-most red-zone targets among all skill position players so if Siemian can connect with Sanders on even a fraction more of those targets then Sanders has incredible TD-upside. Sanders is also on a bye week this week so he could be somewhat easier to target in trades and he has a favorable schedule for ROS with no tough matchups and a favorable matchup in Week 17 against Oakland.

Antonio Gates (TE – SD): 88.4% owned
Speaking of red zone targets, Gates is one of the other skill position players that is tied for the second-most red zone targets and Gates has found the end-zone in each of his last three games. San Diego is on a bye-week this week and Gates could either be dropped or you could possibly buy-low on him this week. Gates has always been one of Philip Rivers‘ favorite targets and will continue to get his looks, especially red-zone targets, despite Hunter Henry’s rise. Gates also has favorable playoff schedule with matchups against Carolina, Oakland and Cleveland in Weeks 14-16.

Hopefully, you’re able to acquire some of these players because they will help you get to your fantasy playoffs and win your league championship! Be sure to look for this article next week when I highlight some more fantasy playoff studs.
