Week 10 Streaming Kickers (Fantasy Football)

Week 10 Streaming Kickers (Fantasy Football)

Greg Zuerlein continues to be one of the most valuable fantasy football assets after his second consecutive 17-point game on Sunday, with three field goals and six extra points in Los Angeles’ 51-17 rout of the hapless New York Giants. Greg the Leg now has double-digit fantasy points in six of his eight games played in 2017, concluding a 27-point record-tying performance Week 4 against Dallas.

On the opposite side of the spectrum, Blair Walsh missed three kicks in a heartbreaking 17-14 loss to the Redskins on Sunday. Walsh is now 12 of 16 on the season, with two of his four missed attempts coming from inside the 40-yard line. I think it is safe to say that head coach Pete Carroll and general manager John Schneider may have second thoughts on allowing former kicker Stephen Hauschka to sign as a free agent with Buffalo.

Brandon McManus appears to have worked out of his funk after making two 50-yard attempts in Sunday’s lopsided loss against Philly. If the big-legged kicker from Denver is back to his 2016 form (29 of 34 for 85%), he could be a viable fantasy option considering Denver’s offensive woes in the red zone.

In addition to McManus, here are a few streaming kicker options for owners dealing with byes in Week 10.

Chris Boswell (PIT) @ Indy (24% Ownership on Yahoo)
It may surprise some readers to know that Chris Boswell of the Steelers is one of the most accurate kickers in the league since joining the Steelers three seasons ago. He has made 88% of his kicks during the span, just behind Dan Bailey and Justin Tucker. From a fantasy perspective, Boswell has not been a valuable asset due to the overall struggles of the offense, with just 15 extra points and 20 attempts in eight games.

With a road matchup against Indianapolis followed by home games against the Titans and Packers, look for Boswell to deliver monster games for fantasy owners down the playoff stretch.

Josh Lambo (JAC) vs. Los Angeles Chargers (3% Ownership on Yahoo)
I will save you from the kicker revenge game narrative and focus on the fact that the Chargers rank second in red zone defense this season, limiting opposing offenses to touchdowns on only 35% of trips inside the 20-yard line. Conversely, the Jags rank in the middle of the pack in red zone offense while the Jacksonville defense is tied for third in takeaways. Those three factors typically lead to opportunity for kickers and a chance to deliver a top-12 performance as a streaming option for Justin Tucker owners looking for a one-week rental.

Robbie Gould (SF) vs. New York Giants (16% Ownership on Yahoo)
The Giants are a mess on both sides of the ball as injuries to skill position players like Odell Beckham Jr. and Brandon Marshall have left Eli Manning with few receiving options, and injuries to key defensive players like linebacker B.J. Goodson have hurt what could have been a solid defensive unit. It also doesn’t help that the team is coming apart at the seams with suspensions for Janoris Jenkins and Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie for allegedly violating team rules.

The Rams took advantage of the mess in New York to hang a 50-burger on the Gmen in Week 9. While I seriously doubt the 49ers will have anywhere near the success of Sean McVey’s Rams, I do think San Francisco will be able to have success this week in what could be a sneaky-good fantasy game for players on both teams. I like both kickers in this game as streaming options, but I side with Gould over rookie Aldrick Rosas due to Gould’s experience.

Red Flag Alert

Will Lutz (NO) @ Buffalo
After an impressive four for four start to the season Week 1 against the Vikings, Will Lutz has not made more than two kicks in a game over his last seven contests. Also, three of his four misses on the season have come outdoors.

With weather conditions in Buffalo often difficult for kickers, Lutz could have a rough day for fantasy owners against a tough Bills defense that has allowed the 16th fewest points to opposing kickers.
