DraftKings MLB Lineup Advice: Monday (4/22)

There is a fun 10-game slate on the docket for Monday night in the MLB. With all of the pitchers on DraftKings coming in under $10,000, there is actually some room to fit in some bats at Coors Field while still snagging the top pitching options on the slate. Of course, with no lockdown aces on the hill, you will need to take on some risk on the mound but there are a few options that offer plenty of upside.

As always, be sure to pay close attention to the lineups when they are released and monitor the weather leading up to game time. For reference throughout the season, be sure to bookmark our overview of MLB Park Factors and how to Use Weather to Your Advantage in MLB DFS.

Chris Sale (BOS): $8,600 vs. DET
Yeah, I know, Sale has been brutal so far this season with decreased velocity, a reduced strikeout rate, and a high home run rate. If you look back to last season, his velocity was also down to begin the season the first handful of starts before it rose back into the 95-plus range. Well, his fastball velocity was back above 95 in his last start even though the results weren’t pretty allowing four runs in five innings to the Yankees. Sale gets a much easier matchup on Monday pitching at home as a big favorite against the Tigers who rank dead last in wOBA (.256) against lefties this season while also posting a 25.6% strikeout rate. This could be a “get well” start for Sale and with an $8,600 price tag, you won’t see him any cheaper the rest of the season.
