I’ve been saying it for months, but in case you haven’t heard, landing spot matters more than anything. While talent will carry some elite players through, this draft class wasn’t littered with elite talent at the skill positions. Because of that, we had to pay even closer attention to where players landed, as opportunity will be key for production.
When going into your rookie draft, there’s a few things to take into consideration. Are you built to win now? Are you still a year or two away from contending for a title? The first six picks in this year’s rookie drafts are awfully close, so if you’re able to move back because someone wants to take N’Keal Harry at No. 1 overall, I’d be willing to do that. Team need is also important, because there are tiers of players who are bunched up, and you should lean towards the player who fills a need on your starting roster.

In general, these are my initial rankings after the NFL Draft. It’s important to note that they will change as I do more research on them and decipher what depth charts will look like, which is why I’ll be doing an article on that soon, with explanations for each tier of players.
