Pitcher
Shane Bieber (CLE): $10,100 at TOR
The pitching options are mixed on this slate, but Bieber is easily one of the most reliable options on the board. Over his last seven starts, Bieber is pitching to a 3.06 ERA and 0.89 WHIP while striking out 60 batters across 47 innings of action. That makes him one of the best pitchers in the AL and that’s huge against a lineup like this. The Blue Jays currently rank 19th in K rate, 23rd in runs scored, 26th in OPS, and 27th in wOBA. That’s why Bieber enters this game as a -150 favorite.
Dinelson Lamet (SD): $6,600 at NYM
While this isn’t necessarily the best play on the board, Lamet is way too cheap for the upside he presents. This is all about talent and sometimes you have to bet on that when playing DFS. For his career, Lamet has a 4.22 xFIP and 29 percent K rate. Those are usually the numbers you’d see from a $7,500 player and we’re looking at quite the discount here. Vegas agrees as this 7.5-total indicates that they expect Lamet to throw a quality start here and limit the Mets to about three runs. That’s no surprise against this club, with New York ranking 18th in both K rate and runs scored.
