MLB Daily Fantasy Primer: Friday (7/30)

There will be no shortage of options in the player pool for Friday, as all 30 teams are in action during the main slate. There will also be no shortage of drama leading up to the games, as Major League Baseball’s trade deadline will pass just a few hours before first pitch.

There’s no guarantee that the projected starters as of Friday morning are even on their respective team’s roster by the time the games begin.

This will force us to follow the news a little more closely — consider it the same as a day in which rain is threatening a handful of games — but everything should be settled before we need to finalize any lineups.

Friday's Starting Pitcher Strategy

I'm always intrigued when the top-priced pitcher on a given slate is somewhat unexpected for one reason or another. Therefore, color me intrigued by Lance Lynn. FanDuel gives the edge to Corbin Burnes, but DraftKings priced Lynn slightly higher. That surprises me. Burnes was absolutely dominating early in the season to the point that he was in the argument for the best pitcher in baseball. He's regressed naturally, and Lynn has been excellent, but Burnes still has a better average of DraftKings points per game, yet he ranks second. If I'm choosing between the two, I'll trust DraftKings' pricing algorithm and go with Lynn.
