Wednesday's Starting Pitcher Strategy
A couple of National League East hurlers, Ian Anderson and Zack Wheeler, headline my favorite pitching selections in cash games. I rank them in that order because of Anderson's sizable salary discount from Wheeler and recent signs of snapping out of his funk. Joe Ryan and Corey Kluber are a couple of nifty GPP plays.
Cash Game Recommendations:
Ian Anderson (ATL) at ARI
I alluded to Anderson's signs of life lately. More specifically, in his last two starts totaling 10.2 innings, he's generated a 30.9 CSW%, walked a reasonable 8.7% of the batters he's faced, and struck out a whopping 34.8% of them, per FanGraphs. Unfortunately, homers have created a sizable gap between his 5.06 ERA, 3.28 xFIP, and 3.16 SIERA. I believe in his advanced metrics.
