Tyrion Davis-Price Career Stats
Davis-Price’s statistical career lacks any compelling stories. He saw the field early as a top-eight RB recruit and flashed when he played, scoring six touchdowns as a freshman. His role grew during his sophomore year in the shortened 2020 season, as he saw his carries per game almost triple from the prior season. By his junior season, he was the featured back and delivered a 1,000-yard campaign for the Tigers.

Tyrion Davis-Price Dynasty Fantasy Analysis
At 6-foot, 220 pounds, Davis-Price more than meets the required size needed to succeed as an NFL running back. He pairs his impressive size with 4.48 speed and a 90th percentile speed score (speed score via PlayerProfiler). The downside to his game is that he is a zero in the receiving game, averaging single-digit receptions per season in college. But, receiving aside, this is a big, strong, fast running back who can get it done on the ground.

When you dig into the advanced metrics on Davis-Price, it’s puzzling. After testing so well in the size and speed categories at the NFL Combine, one would expect to look at YAC (yards after catch) and breakaway data and be impressed. Not the case with Davis-Price, as he ranked in the 100s in both Yards after contact per attempt and breakaway percentage.
Player Comp – Damien Harris, New England Patriots
Both Harris and Davis-Price are early-down bruisers with excellent size and speed and no history of receiving game usage. Its taken Harris some time, but he is now a reliable early-down back in the NFL. Like Harris, fantasy managers should expect it to take some time for Davis-Price to carve out a role.
Landing Spot and Outlook
- Team Drafted: San Francisco 49ers
- Pick Selected: Round 3, Pick 29 (93rd Overall)
Kyle Shanahan collects running backs like no other. Last year he drafted two of them to an already crowded backfield, and it was the rookie drafted later who ended up the team’s starter, Elijah Mitchell. Mitchell looks as entrenched as the starter as any San Francisco RB has in the Shanahan tenure, but at this point, we’ve learned to expect chaos from the regime. Don’t be surprised if the 49ers play Davis-Price early and often because they love the size and speed combo he possesses. Also, don’t be surprised if he’s Trey Sermon.
Davis-Price is worth a flier in the third round of dynasty rookie drafts.
