Fantasy Impact: As Scherzer continues to make progression on the mound in his recovery, the next step will be facing live hitters. He remains without a clear timetable to return, but a return in July is possible if Scherzer can get through the next step or two in his recovery without any setbacks.
Jacob deGrom (shoulder) has thrown two bullpen sessions

Fantasy Impact: After he throws a third bullpen session, the next step for deGrom will be live batting practice which is expected to take place soon. It sounds like a return in July is possible for deGrom if he does not suffer any setbacks.
Joe Ryan (COVID) expected to return next week

Fantasy Impact: Ryan tossed three scoreless innings in his rehab assignment with Triple-A St. Paul on Thursday. He is expected pitch next Tuesday or Wednesday in Seattle. Ryan will carry a 2.28 ERA when he makes his return off the COVID list.
Evan Longoria leaves Friday’s game with hamstring injury

Fantasy Impact: Longoria reportedly suffered the injury rounding third base while scoring on Brandon Crawford’s single in the second inning. He took another at-bat before Donovan Walton replaced him at third base later in the game. Longoria is considered day-to-day for now. The Giants should have more information on his status on Saturday.
