Michael Thomas doubtful for minicamp next week

Per Amie Just, Saints’ head coach Dennis Allen says Michael Thomas is doubtful to participate in minicamp next week. (Source: Amie Just on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact: After only playing in seven games in 2020 and missing the entire 2021 campaign, Thomas is still trying to get his body ready for a full season in 2022. The Ohio State product’s record breaking year of 149 receptions in 2019 seems very far in the rear view mirror. The main problem with Thomas is that we have not seen sustained high-level production from him when someone other than Drew Brees is his quarterback. The 29-year-old is as risky of a fantasy pick as it gets heading into 2022.

Jameson Williams unlikely to be ready for training camp

Per Chris Burke, Lions’ head coach Dan Campbell is hopeful but doesn’t see Jameson Williams being ready for the start of training camp. (Source: Chris Burke on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact: Williams is a special talent with plenty of tantalizing unrealized upside. Prior to tearing his ACL in the national championship game on January 10, the Alabama wide receiver had recorded seven games with at least 123 receiving yards in the regular season. If the 21-year-old is healthy come kickoff, he is easily the most talented wide receiver on the Lions’ roster.

Chris Carson (neck) not cleared for minicamp

Seahawks coach Pete Carroll told reporters Thursday that Chris Carson was not cleared to take part in minicamp. (Source: Corbin K. Smith on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact: Carroll said Carson has an important date in two weeks to see where he’s at coming back from neck surgery. His future still remains very much uncertain. Rashaad Penny and Kenneth Walker sit at the top of the depth chart as of now for the Seahawks.
