Fantasy Football Start/Sit Advice: Start or Sit Garrett Wilson?

The Wilson breakout happened, and it was beautiful. He saw his target share and route run rate grow from 14% and 56.5% to 33.3% and 76.6% in Week 2. He saw everyone one of Flacco’s end zone targets last week (three). He posted a stellar 2.83 yards per route run with a 39% target per route run rate. He ran nearly 50% of his routes from the slot while leading the team in slot routes. This means he’ll get a heaping dose of Mike Hilton this week. Hilton has allowed a 64.3% catch rate and 76.8 passer rating. This is a small sample variance, as Hilton isn’t a matchup to worry about. Last year he gave up a 69.7% catch rate and 95.1 passer rating in coverage. Wilson is a WR3 with WR2 upside.
– Derek Brown

In Week 1, Wilson earned eight targets, but he had just 52 scoreless yards. In Week 2, the first-rounder’s performance was thoroughly unmixed: A delicious 8-102-2 receiving on 14 targets. With an NFL-high seven targets inside the 10-yard line (per our Red Zone Stats Report), Wilson has the potential to produce as both a touchdown scorer and a yardage accumulator.
– Matthew Freedman

Jets rookie WR Garrett Wilson. All in. 77% route participation in Week 2, equal to Corey Davis. Despite him missing a few snaps after suffering a slight back injury. The former Ohio State Buckeye has the most red-zone targets in the NFL through two weeks in addition to a team-leading 23% target share. He’s already gone over his receiving prop line (45.5) twice this season. Week 3 will make it thrice. His 31% target rate per route run ranks 8th among all receivers that have hit at least a 65% route participation this season.
– Andrew Erickson

Rookie Garrett Wilson erupted for 8-102-2 last week and has the look of a star. If you acquired him on waivers this week, don’t hesitate to roll him out against the Bengals.
