Fantasy Football Injury Updates
Amon-Ra St. Brown deemed questionable for Sunday
According to Tom Pelissero of NFL Network, Amon-Rat St. Brown is listed as questionable for Week 5 in New England. (Source: Tom Pelissero on Twitter)
Fantasy Impact: St. Brown missed Week 4 against Seattle, and the Lions didn’t skip a beat. In his absence, TE T.J. Hockenson and WR Josh Reynolds stepped up in a narrow loss. If St. Brown plays, he’s an automatic start in this offense, but if he sits, other playmakers can be turned to as flex values.
D’Andre Swift remains out for Week 5
According to NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero, the Detroit Lions have listed RB D’Andre Swift as out for Week 5 against New England. (Source: Tom Pelissero on Twitter)
Fantasy Impact: Swift missed Week 4, and RB Jamaal Williams had a strong outing. Williams will likely be another strong start candidate as Detroit will be short a number of weapons. Even without those weapons, though, the Lions scored 45 points against Seattle. New England has been middling defensively to start 2022.
David Montgomery limited, questionable for Sunday
According to ESPN’s Field Yates, Chicago Bears RB David Montgomery is listed as questionable for Week 5 and practiced in a limited capacity on Friday. (Source: Field Yates on Twitter)
Fantasy Impact: Ending the week at limited participation and as questionable is a solid sign that Montgomery could play on Sunday against the Minnesota Vikings. Montgomery missed Week 4 and part of Week 3’s contest, and sophomore RB Khalil Herbert played solid in both contests. If Montgomery plays, he will likely be the lead back again, but if he misses again, Herbert will be in for another strong workload.
Michael Thomas officially out against Seattle
According to Erin Summers, a Saints reporter, WR Michael Thomas will be out for Sunday’s game against the Seattle Seahawks. (Source: Erin Summers on Twitter)
Fantasy Impact: Thomas missed last week’s game and this week’s practices with an injury and will be out again. With QB Andy Dalton at the helm for Week 5, WR Chris Olave should receive an upgrade after showing a strong connection in Week 4 against the Minnesota Vikings. Thomas’ eventual return is uncertain as the Saints continue to deal with key injuries.
