Alvin Kamara has been on an every-other-week playing schedule in 2022. Unfortunately for fantasy managers, even when he is on the field, his performance has been subpar compared to what was expected with his ADP of 15. If he is able to go for Week 5, though, he has an excellent matchup on tap versus the Seahawks and their 19th-ranked run defense. Will his ribs be ready to roll? Fantasy Impact
Kamara was listed as questionable leading up to Week 4’s matchup against Minnesota, when his late scratch in Sunday’s early morning game left many fantasy managers scrambling. He seems to believe he will play this weekend against Seattle after missing two of the last three games. That’s a huge lift for fantasy managers hoping he can return to the level of production he’s delivered for the last few years.

Kamara has been injured and missed two games and been mostly ineffective in the other two games. He is a boom / bust flex against a Seahawks D that is 30th against fantasy backs.

The SportsMedAnalytics project Kamara back to baseline for per-play production and usage rate. A hit to the affected area could aggravate this issue, which may be why he missed last week. However, a rapidly improving trajectory is what we typically see with these rib injuries (see Week 3 vs 4 of Justin Herbert’s stat line for reference).
