Will Ezekiel Elliott Play in Week 11 (2022 Fantasy Football)

Will Ezekiel Elliott Play in Week 11 (2022 Fantasy Football)

Ezekiel Elliott has not played since Week 7 due to a knee injury. Jerry Jones has stated that Elliott is still “the guy” and will be the starter when he returns, even while Tony Pollard has finished as an RB1 in both games Elliott missed. The Cowboys take on the Vikings and their 14th-ranked run defense for a showdown in Minneapolis. So will Elliott play in Week 11? And if he plays, is he worth a start even while Pollard balls out? Here’s what we know.

Ezekiel Elliott officially questionable for Sunday

According to The Athletic’s Alec Lewis, RB Ezekiel Elliott is being listed as questionable by the Dallas Cowboys for Sunday’s game against the Minnesota Vikings.

Fantasy Impact

Elliott, who has been an ironman throughout his NFL career, has missed his last two games with a knee injury. He was limited all week in practice, and a definitive game status could come out on Saturday. If Elliott plays, he is always a low-end RB2/flex play with solid touchdown upside, but if he misses again, RB Tony Pollard remains a firm starter in most fantasy lineups.

What the Experts Are Saying

Elliott was limited in practice all week and has been listed as questionable. It looks like he’ll return to the lineup this week. In his last two games played, Elliott has averaged 14.5 touches and 71.5 total yards per game. Elliott is a plodding RB3 at this stage of his career. He’s 44th in juke rate, 35th in evaded tackles, and 54th in yards created per touch. The Vikings are an elite run defense, ranking sixth in rushing yards per game, first in EPA per rush, and fifth in explosive run rate allowed.

Most likely playing this week. These average 3-4 weeks for RBs, and he’s now had four. Expect close to the full-strength player on a per-play basis, but don’t be surprised if Pollard still sees more touches than normal in Week 11.
