Fantasy Football Injury Updates
Marcus Mariota headed for knee surgery
Marcus Mariota is headed for knee surgery and he will be placed on injured reserve, per head coach Arthur Smith.
Fantasy Impact
Mariota’s first season with the Falcons will end after 13 games. The 29-year-old completed 61.3% of his passes, for 2,219 yards, 15 touchdowns, and nine interceptions. Rookie Desmond Ridder will take over and likely start the rest of the season for the Falcons. Mariota is only contractually tied to the Falcons for one more season, although there is an opt-out in his deal with minimal dead cap space for the Falcons.

Justin Fields (illness) misses practice Wednesday
Justin Fields missed practice on Wednesday due to an illness.
Fantasy Impact
Matt Eberflus said Fields is day-to-day. His status at practice will have to be monitored on Thursday and Friday with the Bears taking on the Eagles on Sunday.

Treylon Burks remains in concussion protocol
Treylon Burks remains in concussion protocol on Wednesday.
Fantasy Impact
Burks left the Titans game early in Week 13 and missed this past Sunday’s game due to the concussion. As long as Burks remains sidelined, Chigoziem Okonkwo will remain a very appealing tight end for fantasy managers.

Dallas Goedert (shoulder) ‘up in the air’ to playing Sunday
Dallas Goedert said he is “still up in air” as to playing Sunday, but he is “trending in right direction.”
Fantasy Impact
Goedert’s 21-day practice window opened on Wednesday, so he will have two more weeks to return if he doesn’t return on Sunday. His status will still have to be monitored on Thursday and Friday to see if he can return this week against the Bears.
