Corey Dickerson inks one-year deal with Washington

Corey Dickerson and the Washington Nationals are in agreement on a one-year deal.

Fantasy Impact

Dickerson slashed .267/.300/.399 with six home runs, and 36 RBI in 97 games with the Cardinals in 2022. The veteran outfielder joins the rebuilding Nationals on a major league deal and should compete for time at DH and the corner outfield spots.

Johnny Cueto agrees to deal with Marlins

Johnny Cueto has agreed to a deal with the Miami Marlins according to Jon Heyman.

Fantasy Impact

Cueto is coming off of a 2022 season in which the right-hander posted a 1.23 WHIP and 3.35 ERA to go along with a 102/33 K/BB ratio in 158 1/3 innings pitched as a stable option at the back end of the Chicago White Sox rotation. Expect the veteran to fill the same role at the back end of the Miami rotation as an innings-eating option for a club with plenty of options at the top of the rotation going into the 2023 season. Terms of the deal have yet to be announced.

Brandon Belt agrees to one-year deal with Blue Jays

Brandon Belt has agreed to a one-year, $9.3 million deal with the Toronto Blue Jays according to Susan Slusser.

Fantasy Impact

Belt is coming off a disappointing 2022 season in which the veteran first baseman struggled to a .213/.326/.350 slash line with just eight home runs and 23 runs batted in over 298 plate appearances before undergoing season-ending knee surgery in September. The 34-year-old offers an intriguing option from the left side of the plate for a mostly right-handed Toronto lineup as the Blue Jays look to take a huge step after an early postseason exit last season.
