Aroldis Chapman agrees to sign with Royals
Aroldis Chapman has agreed to sign with the Kansas City Royals per Mark Feinsand.
Fantasy Impact
Chapman finally finds a new home after struggling to a 4.46 ERA and 1.43 WHIP before being left off of the postseason roster for the New York Yankees last season. The left-handed closer will have every opportunity to resurrect himself with a Kansas City club in desperate need of an electric arm at the back end of their bullpen this season.

Tomas Nido agrees to two-year, $3.7 million extension
Tomas Nido and the New York Mets have agreed to a two-year, $3.7 million contract extension. He will receive $1.6 million in 2023 and $2.1 million in 2024.
Fantasy Impact
While Nido’s value comes mostly from his defense, it is promising to see the Mets show commitment to the 28-year-old backstop. Between the signing of Omar Narvaez and the arrival of top prospect Fransisco Alvarez, it wasn’t clear if Nido would have much of a role with the Mets. It’s unclear if Alvarez will start the season as the primary catcher, so Nido could be in for a solid amount of playing time to start the 2023 season. He hit .239/.276/.324 in 313 plate appearances in 2022.

Luis Arraez traded to Marlins
Luis Arraez has been traded to the Miami Marlins for Pablo Lopez. More players are expected to be involved in the trade.
Fantasy Impact
Rumors surrounding Arraez have been out there for a few months now, and they finally come to fruition as he heads to Miami. It’s unclear where the Marlins plan to play Arraez, but he will look to repeat a great 2022 season (.316/.375/.420) as an everyday player at the top of the Marlins lineup.

Tommy Pham signing with Mets
Tommy Pham has agreed to terms of a deal with the New York Mets, pending a physical. It will reportedly be worth $6 million.
Fantasy Impact
The Mets have been searching for depth in the outfield throughout the offseason and have found their man in Pham. He will likely play a role off the bench behind Mark Canha. He slashed .236/.312/.374 with an 89 wRC+ in 2022
