Does the NFL Combine Matter to Fantasy Football Managers?

While the NFL Scouting Combine is primarily geared towards NFL teams evaluating potential draft picks, it can also be important for fantasy football managers looking to gain an edge in their league.

The drills and workouts at the Combine can give valuable insight into a player’s athleticism, which can translate into success on the football field. For example, a wide receiver who runs a fast 40-yard dash time can be an indication of their ability to separate from defenders and make big plays in the passing game. Similarly, a running back who performs well in the three-cone drill and the shuttle run can show they have the agility and change of direction skills necessary to evade defenders and pick up yards on the ground.

In addition to physical tests, the Combine also includes medical evaluations and interviews with NFL teams. These can be important for fantasy football managers to track because they can provide insight into a player’s health and character. A player who has a history of injuries or character concerns may be riskier to draft in fantasy, while a player who impresses teams with their work ethic and football IQ may be more likely to succeed on the field.

while the NFL Scouting Combine is primarily focused on NFL teams evaluating potential draft picks, fantasy football managers can also benefit from following the event closely. By tracking the results of the physical tests, medical evaluations, and interviews, fantasy football managers can gain valuable insight into a player’s potential success on the field and make more informed decisions in their fantasy drafts.
