DeMarvion Overshown Dynasty Rookie Draft Outlook

SPEED! I’ve watched every game that Overshown has played and there are two things that jump out for him and the first one is his speed. Overshown came to Texas as a DB but flipped to LB and he has true sideline-to-sideline speed to cover the entire field which can keep him on the field because he can cover. The 2nd thing that I noticed, and was frustrated by, is how many tackles he misses. Overshown will overpursue, try to tackle high or not be able to shed a block and whiff on a lot of tackles. The athleticism is there but the technique needs to be refined a bit but his speed and recklessness with his body could make him a stud eventually.

DeMarvion Overshown 2023 NFL Draft Outlook

A big, long-limbed Rover type who closes as quickly as can be for a linebacker prospect but whose lack of functional strength and reliability as a tackler causes him to struggle against the run at times. If he can add additional bulk/strength without losing the athleticism that gives him so much range as a defender, could be a versatile sub-package player or potentially even a starter. For one of the highly-regarded linebacker prospects in the class, represents a relatively risky choice with considerable upside.
