NFL Rumors & News (2023 Fantasy Football)
Here is the latest in news and rumors around the NFL.
Marcus Mariota released by Atlanta
The Atlanta Falcons have announced that they are releasing QB Marcus Mariota after one season with the team.
Fantasy Impact
Mariota was benched late in the season in favor of rookie QB Desmond Ridder. It is unclear if his release is a sign of faith in Ridder or if it’s evidence they plan to bring in another QB, either a free agent veteran or another drafted rookie. For now, Ridder is the team’s QB1, the Falcons save $12 million and Mariota can look for a fourth team in his career.

Kenny Golladay set to be released by Giants
According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the New York Giants plan to release Kenny Golladay at the start of the league year, March 15.
Fantasy Impact
By waiting until March 15, the Giants can save $6.7 million. Golladay’s experience in New York didn’t work out, never meshing well in the offense and ultimately finding himself inactive for games in 2022. In two seasons with the Giants, he finished with a combined 43 catches for 602 yards and one touchdown. Golladay, the former Lion, can now evaluate where he will go next.
