Austin Ekeler still not happy with current contract situation
Austin Ekeler is still upset about his current contract situation with the Charges. Ekeler pointed to backup wide receivers making more money than him and voiced concerns over the running back market on the Rich Eisen Show.
Fantasy Impact
Ekeler believes that running backs should be paid based on their impact on the game when compared to wide receivers who have lesser roles on other teams. The veteran running back stated the frustration is not just about the money, but also about feeling valued by the team. Ekeler is in the final year of his contract and is set to make $6.25M this season.

Antonio Gibson wants to be used more as a WR in 2023
Antonio Gibson said in a recently released interview that he wants to line up more at WR in 2023, stating “I haven’t shown my position.” Gibson converted to running back after playing wide receiver in college, and his open-field ability makes him a valuable weapon in the new-look Washington offense.
Fantasy Impact
Gibson is behind second-year running back Brian Robinson for first and second-down work, but profiles as the primary pass catcher of the two. If the Commanders do start using him more as a wideout, he could come in over Curtis Samuel in three WR sets, or be their fourth WR. Either way, while Robinson has seemingly cemented his place as the hammer of the offense, Gibson will hope to contribute in the open field where he is more comfortable playing.

Joe Mixon restructures contract to stay with Bengals
Joe Mixon, who had a $9.4 million non-guaranteed base salary, agreed Friday night to restructure his contract to remain in Cincinnati.
Fantasy Impact
“Mixon’s goal is to win a Super Bowl and play his career in Cincinnati and this is the best way to accomplish these goals,” his agent Peter Schaffer said. There had been some rumors of Mixon being a potential release candidate at some point this offseason, but he will remain the lead back in the Bengals backfield this season. The departure of Samaje Perine could open up more opportunity for Mixon in the passing game as well out of the backfield.
