Evan Engram signs 3-year, $42 million deal with Jaguars
Evan Engram has signed a 3-year, $42.5 million contract with the Jaguars. After some worry that the two sides were having trouble coming up with a deal, the Jags have Engram locked up for the next several years to be an integral part of the passing game.
Fantasy Impact
Engram is coming off a season that saw him achieve career-highs in receptions and yards with 73 and 766 respectively. Even with the addition of Calvin Ridley, Engram should be a favorite target for Trevor Lawrence and a big part of the passing game. He might now have as much ceiling as he had before Ridley’s arrival but with the tight-end position as questionable as always aside from the top tier, any usable tight-end who can also win you a week is a welcome sight.

DeAndre Hopkins signs with Titans
According to Dianna Russini of ESPN, free agent WR DeAndre Hopkins is signing with the Tennessee Titans.
Fantasy Impact
The three-time All-Pro WR will sign with Tennessee on a two-year deal worth $26 million, up to $32 million. The Titans were reported to be the most active pursuer of Hopkins. They are starting the season under new ownership, and Hopkins is the first major move of their tenure. With a trio of QB Ryan Tannehill and RB Derrick Henry, the Titans are looking to take advantage of their division before Tannehill’s contract expires and Henry ages out of his prime.

Baker Mayfield ‘great’ for Bucs’ locker room
In a recent Sirius XM interview, Bucs’ veteran LB Lavonte David was quoted saying Baker Mayfield is a great locker room presence and “he’s expected to live up to what everybody expected him to be.”
Fantasy Impact
The former Heisman winner and #1 overall draft pick has the pedigree over the incumbent backup to Tom Brady, Kyle Trask. Apparently, he has earned to respect of some of the Tampa Bay veterans, as well. Trask is still very much in the picture, but Mayfield continues to have the inside track on the Week 1 starting role. With the likes of Mike Evans and Chris Godwin in the Bucs’ offense whoever starts for the team will have a chance to be a low-end fantasy option, especially in deeper leagues.
