Josh Jacobs won’t report to training camp without new deal

Josh Jacobs is not expected to show up for training camp without a long-term deal.

Fantasy Impact

The deadline for the two sides to agree on a long-term deal is on Monday. It remains a situation to monitor, but there have not been many reports on Jacobs and the Raiders gaining any progress on a potential new deal. Jacobs could still play in Week 1 even if he misses part of training camp, but it does bring some concern. He is coming off a career season rushing for over 1,600 yards and 12 touchdowns.

Kyler Murray sets goal for Week 1 return

Kyler Murray said in a pre-released audio clip of the Arizona Cardinals Flight Plan Premiere that he intends to be back by Week 1 of the regular season.

Fantasy Impact

While it’s a lofty expectation given how late he tore his ACL in 2022, if he does show signs of returning that early, it greatly boosts his fantasy draft stock. But the question will be, can he return on investment, especially so soon after an ACL tear? One thing is fairly certain, if Murray does plays it boosts the Cardinals’ chances to win. Arizona is looking like a bottom-feeding team in 2023, so they may want to hold him out to help their 2024 draft position.

Kadarius Toney can be “one of the best receivers” in the NFL

Kadarius Toney can be “one of the best receivers in the league,” according to quarterback Patrick Mahomes talking to the Associated Press. Mahomes spoke about Toney’s difference-making ability and how they’re excited to see what he can do with a full off-season with the team under his belt.

Fantasy Impact

Toney has shown that he can do a lot with very limited work. Though he was not heavily involved in the Chiefs’ Super Bowl win, he had both a 65-yard punt return and a touchdown playing very few snaps. He’s the type of player offenses want to get the ball to, but his problem has been staying healthy. If he can become the clear-cut WR1 for Kansas City, he’ll be an extremely valuable fantasy asset.
