Will DK Metcalf Play in Week 4? (2023 Fantasy Football)

Week 4 has arrived! Unfortunately, the injury watch for fantasy managers is also here. Players who appear on the Friday injury report and haven’t practiced much during the week can often lead to trepidation for managers trying to make lineup decisions and/or waiver claims. Don’t fret, though – FantasyPros is here to provide you with all of the latest news and updates on the players who are questionable heading into the weekend.

DK Metcalf has been a WR2 for two out of the first three weeks of the year; however, he suffered a rib injury in Week 3 that has called his status into question. Will DK Metcalf play in Week 4? Here’s the latest.

DK Metcalf (ribs) practices in full Friday

DK Metcalf (ribs) was a full participant in Seattle’s practice on Friday.

Fantasy Impact

Metcalf was sidelined at practice on Thursday as he continues to nurse his sore ribs. He was upgraded to full participation on Friday, however, and it looks like he will be 100% healthy for Week 4. He should play, and fantasy managers can feel confident starting him in what should be a favorable matchup against the Giants’ defense.

What the Experts Are Saying

Metcalf has commanded an 18.4% Target share, a 36.4% air yard share, and a 25.9% first-read share (2.6 YPRR). Against man coverage, Metcalf is the team’s best weapon. His Target share against man climbs to 25% while his air-yard share is 61% and his first read rate balloons to 30%. Metcalf will run about 79% of his routes against Tre Hawkins (60% catch rate and 97.1 passer rating) and Deonte Banks (53.8% catch rate and 95.4 passer rating). Week 4 Positional Value: WR1
