Devy Fantasy Football Risers & Fallers: Tetairoa McMillan, Michael Pratt, Michael Pratt, Dillon Gabriel

Week 12 of the College Football season featured four matchups between ranked opponents, including #5 Washington escaping with a 22-20 victory over #11 Oregon State in the game of the week. #9 Missouri, #10 Louisville and #16 Iowa all won one-possession contests over unranked foes, but it was a pretty lackluster week for upsets aside from #20 North Carolina (defeated 31-20 by unranked Clemson).

Devy Fantasy Football Risers & Fallers

If you’re unfamiliar with the format, devy (developmental dynasty league) is a type of fantasy football league that goes deeper. In these leagues, you draft and stash potential NFL prospects years before they enter the league. Scott Fish, the creator of the massively popular Scott Fish Bowl tournament, is also credited with creating devy back in the 1990s, and the format has gained popularity ever since.

Regarding risers, we refer to players whose perceived value has increased based on their on-field performance. However, when we talk about fallers, we consider several factors, such as on-field performance, injuries, playing time and even some extenuating circumstances, which can impact a player’s value.

Risers

Tetairoa McMillan (WR – Arizona)

Missouri’s Luther Burden deservingly gets all the love in the 2025 WR class, but he isn’t the only sophomore taking his game to the next level. 2025 WR prospect Tetairoa McMillan has also been sensational this season as the focal point of Arizona’s offense.

McMillan broke out last season with 702 receiving yards and eight touchdowns on only 39 receptions. McMillan has seen his YPR drop with more volume, but his yardage and touchdown numbers have increased this season. McMillan has 69 receptions, 976 receiving yards and nine touchdowns this season for the Wildcats with a potential Pac-12 Championship game and bowl game remaining on the schedule.

McMillan isn’t eligible until the 2025 NFL Draft, but I’d imagine NFL scouts are already drooling. His combination of size, speed and play-making ability should make the Arizona wide receiver a very popular player in NFL circles. Buy him if you can.

Michael Pratt (QB – Tulane)

Almost every season, at least one quarterback shows up to Mobile, Ala., and turns heads at Senior Bowl practices. Having already accepted an invitation to this year’s event, Tulane’s Michael Pratt is hoping to be this year’s edition.

Pratt lacks the elite arm strength we look for in early-round quarterbacks, but he’s an experienced four-year starter who seems to improve yearly. That experience could be crucial for him as he finishes the season and starts to prepare for the hectic pre-NFL Draft process. It’s hard to envision any NFL franchise falling in love with Pratt enough to select him as their franchise quarterback, but he should hang around the league as a backup/spot starter down the line.

Fallers

Jordan Travis (QB – FSU)

We have mentioned plenty of injuries in this column during the College Football season, but this might be the hardest blurb to write. On Saturday, Florida State quarterback Jordan Travis suffered a devastating season-ending lower left leg injury. If you haven’t seen the replay, just consider yourself lucky and avoid it at all costs. It’s heartbreaking.

While plenty of players have suffered similar or even worse injuries this season, this happening right now to the sixth-year senior is an unfair blow from the football gods. Thanks largely to Travis’ play, Florida State is undefeated and on the cusp of a College Football Playoff appearance.

Now the Seminoles will have to finish their quest for a National Championship with their backup quarterback, and Travis sees his collegiate career end in devastating fashion. Travis was already considered a mid-to-late-round quarterback prospect due to his height and age, but hopefully, this injury doesn’t linger too far into the pre-draft process.

Dillon Gabriel (QB – Oklahoma)

Oklahoma quarterback Dillon Gabriel has played well for most of this season, but his time as a starting quarterback might be ending. Gabriel picked up an injury in Oklahoma’s 31-24 victory over BYU, and freshman five-star quarterback Jackson Arnold finished the contest.

Gabriel’s exact injury is unknown, but Oklahoma head coach Brent Venables described it as an “upper-body injury,” and his status for Friday’s matchup with TCU is in doubt. With Arnold expected to get his first career start, the future might be now for the Oklahoma Sooners. Arnold has only played in mop-up duty this season, but he’s looked mighty impressive in limited action.
