Dynasty Rookie Draft Sleepers: Jermaine Burton, Luke McCaffrey, Xavier Legette, Jalen McMillan (Fantasy Football)

The 2023 fantasy football season is over, which means one thing: It’s startup draft season for dynasty managers! Sure, you may be inclined to partake in a bit of responsible sports betting (head on over to BettingPros if you do), play fantasy baseball, or look ahead to the NFL Draft.

But let’s be honest with each other. The end of the fantasy football season is simply the start of the dynasty fantasy football season.

We asked several experts to name an early dynasty rookie draft sleeper in 2024. Here’s what they said.

2024 Fantasy Football Early Dynasty Rookie Draft Sleepers

Who is one rookie sleeper you’re targeting in early dynasty rookie drafts? Dynasty Rookie Rankings can be found here. Please try to pick someone outside the Top 25.

Jalen McMillan (WR)

Jalen McMillan is an underrated wide receiver after having a ‘down’ year during the 2023 season. He started the year off with a banged up knee, which hurt his production. The year prior he had more receptions and touchdowns than Rome Odunze. McMillan also had a better YAC/REC, more MTF, and a better YPRR against man coverage than Odunze during the 2022 season. He’s primarily a slot receiver who is currently being slept on because of recency bias.”
Nick Penticoff (Dynasty Football Warehouse)

Xavier Legette (WR)

“I really like Xavier Legette. I think there’s a chance he goes late in the first round and will ultimately end up being a Top 5-6 wide receiver in dynasty drafts come May. He is big and strong, creates good seperation, he can get vertical while also being good after the catch. He was excellent last year and profiles as a potential stud receiver. He’s for too low in early rookie rankings.”
Ben Wasley (The Fantasy First Down)

Luke McCaffrey (WR)

“Everyone is looking for the next Puka Nacua. While that was an anomaly, Luke McCaffrey is someone I will target during my dynasty rookie drafts. Christian McCaffrey‘s younger brother started his career as a quarterback before switching to wide receiver in 2022. Despite limited experience as a pass catcher, the former BYU star had 992 receiving yards and 13 touchdowns last season. His experience playing quarterback has helped him transition to wide receiver, showing impressive situational awareness and ability to create separation. While McCaffrey won’t be a flashy superstar, he could become a Tyler Boyd-type player in PPR leagues.”
Mike Fanelli (FantasyPros)

Jermaine Burton (WR)

“The scouting report on Jermaine Burton: a dangerous WR with elite speed. In addition to his explosiveness, Burton’s route running is good, and he possesses exceptional hands. Burton has first-round talent, but character concerns will most likely cause him to slip in the NFL Draft to be a day-two pick. With a current rookie ADP of WR 21 (45th overall), Burton is definitely worth a shot. Ringo’s comp- Burton reminds me of Calvin Ridley, both have similar builds (height 6′ 0″, weight 190 lbs.), and I could see him being a solid WR 2 option for an NFL team.”
