Thursday’s NBA Sleeper Picks Player Predictions: Tyrese Haliburton, Jaylen Brown, T.J. McConnell (5/23)

Welcome to Sleeper Picks. Sleeper’s newest offering promised plenty of entertainment and action, and they delivered. We will break down our top three picks for tonight’s NBA action. Sleeper is quickly becoming one of the most popular season-long fantasy platforms, and they are expanding into other areas based on demand. Each week in this space, we’ll talk about some strategy for the new platform while providing our favorite NBA more/less picks.

NBA Sleeper Picks Player Predictions (5/23)

Tyrese Haliburton (G – IND): 2.5 threes (alt line)

Haliburton came out firing in Game 1, and if not for some costly giveaways late that allowed Boston to claw back to force overtime, he would have been the catalyst for a seismic upset against the Celtics. Tyrese nailed six threes for the second time in as many games and has drained three or more in six of his last seven overall. He is going to need to stay aggressive for Indiana to have any chance in this series, so expect another high-volume night from the emerging superstar. Tap the More on Tyrese for Game 2.

Pick: More

Jaylen Brown (G/F – BOS): 19.5 points (alt line)

The straw that stirs the drink. Jaylen Brown dropped 26 points in Game 1 and was a key factor in the defensive end in crunch time. This Celtics team will only go as far as Brown’s play allows them to. The high pace in this series only serves to benefit Brown, who is often left without the type of volume needed for a player of his caliber to make a genuine impact on both ends of the floor. Jaylen has had success against Indiana both during the regular season and now the playoffs, so light him up at this reduced total. It would be a major surprise if Jaylen fails to hit at least 20 in any game this series, especially tonight in a pivotal Game 2 at home. Jab the More on Jaylen for Thursday night basketball.

Pick: More

T.J. McConnell (G – IND): 3.5 assists (alt line)

McConnell has been a true difference maker for the Pacers in this postseason and is doing so despite playing limited minutes. He has dished out four or more assists in each of his last five, and while we had to wait until late before he clicked in Game 1, he will remain on the ball when he is in the game, so he is going to hit four assists a night more often than not. Tap the More on T.J. for Game 2.

Pick: More

Writers note: The lines are constantly changing on Sleeper (and sometimes expiring), so there is a high probability that one or all of the numbers may no longer be the same when you open your app. There are excellent values when they are first posted, with the only catch being that they are not all released at the same time. Vigilance could provide a solid return on investment this season, literally.
