Live Fantasy Football Discord AMA with Pat Fitzmaurice

Pat Fitzmaurice: Hey @everyone. Live chat starting now in the Pat Fitzmaurice AMA channel. See you there!

jimsladek81: 8 team redraft, 2qb, half-ppr – Allowed one keeper. Are you keeping Breece Hall in the sixth or Jordan Love in the 14th? I love the work you guys put in; keep it up!

Pat Fitzmaurice: Thanks, Jim! Oh man, this is a tough call. I’m leaning very slightly toward Breece. The value on Love is incredible, but even in a Superflex league, it’s not going to be hard for you to fill those QB spots with only eight teams. Love is certainly an above-average starter. But there are only 4 RBs with a combo of elite talent and workhorse roles, and you have great keeper value on one of them.

L6onzo: If you get Marvin Harrison Jr, would you be opposed to getting Trey McBride on the same team as well?

Pat Fitzmaurice: Are we talking redraft or dynasty, L6onzo? Dynasty, I don’t mind it. Redraft … not optimal, but not necessarily terrible. On the bright side, those two should account for a pretty big target share. But you’re vulnerable to a down week if the Cardinals run into a lights-out pass defense, and a Kyler Murray injury could crush you.

tcinelli14: Who would you rather have as an upside WR play in a 12-team PPR league- Luke McCaffrey or Demario Douglas?

Pat Fitzmaurice: McCaffrey. I think Douglas is too small to ever be a high-volume guy. And the way they’re splitting snaps in the preseason makes it seem like a true WR-by-committee situation. Love the potential for Luke, and the kid obviously has great bloodlines. (Fitz’s WR Rankings)

HTK.: How do you target 12-man ppr compared to 10-man ppr? I’m 4th pick. Who do you think I should go with in the 10-man?

Pat Fitzmaurice: The major difference is in how you treat the “onesie” positions — QB and TE. I’m a little less willing to wait on those positions with 10 or fewer. The key is how many WRs you’re required to start. If 3, I think a WR-heavy build early on makes sense, and I’d be looking to draft Tyreek Hill, CeeDee Lamb or Ja’Marr Chase. If you only need to start 2 WRs, I’d be hoping to get Bijan or Breece Hall at 1.04.
