Davante Adams’ Fantasy Football Outlook
Well, so much for the Davante Adams & Aaron Rodgers tandem landing with the same team this offseason. Adams’ landing in Los Angeles does ensure one thing… Cooper Kupp is gone. Kupp will be dealt at some time. Lock it in.
Six-time Pro-Bowl WR Davante Adams is signing a two-year deal with the Los Angeles Rams, per source.

The big question right now is what can we expect from Puka Nacua‘s new running mate in 2025? Adams should be considered a top-15 fantasy wide receiver with WR1 upside this upcoming season. Looking back at last year, toss Adams’ production with the Raiders in the trash. He had horrible quarterback play last year in Las Vegas and was dealing with a hamstring issue. His numbers from his time with the Jets are more indicative of what we should expect this upcoming season.
With the Jets, Adams was the WR8 in fantasy points per game, as all of his efficiency metrics remained strong. Per Fantasy Points Data, Adams ranked fifth in target share (28%), 10th in receiving yards per game (77.6), 18th in yards per route run (2.29) and 20th in first downs per route run (0.105).
Adams’ deeper analytics were also strong and improved during his time with New York. In Weeks 7-18, among 120 wide receivers with a minimum of 100 routes run, he ranked 27th in separation score and 34th in route win rate. After Week 11, his overall separation score was 16th-best and his route win rate was the 15th-best. Adams still has plenty left in the tank to crush in 2025.
If we project Adams in the “Cooper Kupp role” things look even juicier. After Week 6, Adams ran 52.3% of his routes from the slot (Kupp 64.8% slot) while ranking 23rd in yards per route run and 12th in targets per route run from the slot. After Week 11, he ranked 22nd in separation and 24th in route win rate from the slot, per Fantasy Points Data. Adams should flourish in a condensed passing attack in 2025 (last year, Kupp & Nacua combined for a 52.9% market share of targets) with Matthew Stafford chucking fastballs.
Los Angeles Rams’ Fantasy Football Outlook
With Adams’ landing with the Rams, the two players most impacted by his signing are Matthew Stafford and Puka Nacua. Let’s get this out of the way quickly. I’m not worried at all about Nacua’s outlook for 2025. If consensus is ready to fade him because of Adams then you should take the discount and tell all of your league mates thank you. This news should also make Stafford a nice value in all fantasy formats.
In Weeks 8-18, Nacua was the WR4 in fantasy points per game, commanding a 31.3% target share (second-best) while producing 95.5 receiving yards per game (fourth-best), 3.65 yards per route run (second-best) and 0.176 first downs per route run (first).
Any way you slice it, Nacua was an elite receiver. I don’t see Nacua slowing down at all entering his third NFL season. He is an alpha wide receiver, firmly entrenched in the prime of his career. Stafford has proven over a long career he can support multiple high-end fantasy assets. Nacua should be considered a WR1 in all formats with top-five upside this season.
With Nacua on the field last year, Stafford looked revitalized before tailing off during the final three weeks of the regular season. After Week 14, he didn’t manage more than 9.2 fantasy points in any game and finished no better than QB26 in weekly scoring. In Weeks 8-14, Stafford was the QB11 in fantasy points per game.
In those seven games, among 32 quarterbacks with at least 100 dropbacks, Stafford ranked 10th in yards per attempt, sixth in passer rating, 11th in highly accurate throw rate and 11th in fantasy points per dropback, per Fantasy Points Data. Assuming Stafford can stay healthy (yes, I know this is a big if), he could be a QB1 in 2025 and a wonderful value in fantasy football drafts.
