The PGA Tour heads to the Philadelphia Cricket Club’s Wissahickon Course for this week’s Truist Championship. It’s the latest Signature Event, preparing this field of 72 golfers for the upcoming PGA Championship major at Quail Hollow.
Quail Hollow is the normal site for this event. Now, Wissahickon Course gets to make its PGA Tour debut. I’ll dive into more details about the course layout and what hazards to expect below.
Last week, my PGA DFS Primer for The 2025 CJ CUP Byron Nelson had no juice. Scottie Scheffler was the wire-to-wire winner and nearly set the PGA Tour record with his 31-under-par performance. My selections all were disappointing during the birdie-fest held at TPC Craig Ranch. Jake Knapp played the best with a T39 finish (-11), followed by Rasmus Hojgaard (48/-9), Victor Perez (T60/-5) and Sam Ryder who missed the cut.
I’m back with four more golfers to prioritize inserting into PGA DFS lineups on DraftKings and FanDuel ahead of Round 1 at the 2025 Truist Championship. Follow me on X at Matt_MacKay_ for more PGA DFS recommendations. Get analysis and free picks throughout the 2025 PGA Tour season.

Course Overview
Wissahickon Course is a par 70 that runs 7,119 yards. There are hardly any doglegged fairways, although they are narrow. Minimal trees line these tight fairways, which are comprised of Bentgrass. Rough stands 2.5 inches as a mixture of bluegrass and fescue.
The Bentgrass greens are undulating and tiered, similar to Augusta National Golf Club during The Masters. The Stimpmeter is expected to measure up to 13 feet, meaning it’s going to be very tricky to account for both break and speed at Wissahickon Course.
Only two par 5s are in play, while the majority of par 4s are under 440 yards. Tee-to-green accuracy is a premium, while being able to get close hole proximity is a good way to combat difficult putting conditions.
The primary hazards are bunkers, totaling over 100, including “The Great Hazard” on the par 5 15th hole. Sand save percentage becomes a focal point here, while water hazards take a backseat. Lack of trees could usher in wind gusts for further difficulty.
Precision over power is the key to success at Wissahickon. Whichever golfers figure out the Bentgrass undulations with their putter will have a great opportunity to climb the leaderboard at the PGA Tour’s latest Signature Event.
Recommended Plays: DraftKings
DraftKings maximum salary is set at $50,000
Corey Conners: $8,800
Corey Conners’ hot streak ended at the RBC Heritage, carding a pedestrian T49 finish at -4-under-par. The Canadian ball-striker should be primed for a bounce-back at Wissahickon this week.
He’s ranked 19th SG: Off-the-Tee, including 20th driving accuracy and 15th at finding greens in regulation at 69.8 percent. Conners ranks top 30 in proximity, 43rd scrambling and 20th on par 4s.
Let’s back Conners at a discounted salary. He’s $8.8K following a rare blemish on his 2025 PGA Tour resumé. Conners has had some time off to prepare for this Signature Event and he profiles well at this venue.
Maverick McNealy: $8,300
Maverick McNealy will likely be a popular pick in DFS lineups based on his latest production on the links. McNealy is only $8.3K to acquire on DraftKings.
He’s got a pair of T3 finishes, including at the RBC Heritage, which was his last performance that ironically came at a Signature Event. McNealy ranks 33rd SG: Approach, 22nd SG: Putting and 33rd in birdie average (4.23 per round) this season.
There’s a lot to like with McNealy’s current form, so let’s throw him into DraftKings PGA DFS lineups at a solid value.

FanDuel maximum salary is set at $60,000
Brian Harman: $8,900
Brian Harman has an outright win and a T3 finish in two of his last three starts on the PGA Tour. Yet he’s available to roster in FanDuel DFS contests at at under a $9,000 salary.
Harman’s a quality tee-to-green player who has the ability to maintain consistent accuracy off-the-tee and on approach. These skills should go a long way at Wissahickon.
Ranked 19th proximity, 35th at finding greens in regulation, and 25th for sand save rate, I’m very bullish on Harman to card at least a T20 finish in Philadelphia this week. Make sure to insert Harman into FanDuel DFS lineups at an $8.9K salary.
Tom Hoge: $8,500
I couldn’t wait to get to Tom Hoge at an $8.5K salary this week. Hoge is coming off of an impressive run that includes T3-T5-T14-T18 finishes in four straight events.
He’s among the best ball-strikers on the PGA Tour. Ranked 12th SG: Approach and 16th in proximity, Hoge is also 32nd scrambling and 27th at sand save percentage. Even his short game is trending up this season, ranked 29th in putting average, ninth in putts per round and sixth in one-putt percentage.
Don’t hesitate to pounce on Hoge at an $8.5K salary on FanDuel. He’s too good to be this cheap, pouring in 188 birdies in 2025, ranked 13th on the PGA Tour. His production will help net profit in FanDuel PGA contests at the Truist Championship.
