Welcome to Sleeper Picks. Sleeper’s newest offering promised plenty of entertainment and action, and they delivered. We will break down our top three picks for tonight’s NBA action. Sleeper is quickly becoming one of the most popular season-long fantasy platforms, and they are expanding into other areas based on demand. Each week in this space, we’ll talk about some strategy for the new platform while providing our favorite NBA more/less picks.
NBA Sleeper Picks Player Predictions (5/13)
Donovan Mitchell (G – CLE): 3.5 assists (alt line)
Donovan Mitchell (ankle) is officially listed as questionable for tonight but will give it a go prior to tip-off to see if he will be able to play tonight. The Cavs will need Mitchell to stave off the massive series upset, so expect him to do everything possible to be on the floor. With that said, the ankle injury could cause him to look for his teammates more, as he will likely not have the same explosive first step. Donovan has handed out four or more assists in six of his eight playoff contests, and in all six contests in which he played more than 27 minutes in. Dap the More on Donovan for Tuesday night basketball.
Pick: More
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander (G – OKC): 24.5 points (alt line)
Shai has struggled some with his shot in these playoffs, but he has still found a way to average 27.6 points per game despite a relatively poor .436 field goal percentage. This series is tied 2-2, but if SGA and the Thunder could deliver in the clutch more consistently, this series could be 3-1 Thunder or even 4-0. SGA is an incredible player, but delivering this second round series win will be career-defining. SGA will need to be aggressive tonight, so the 24.5 alt line is the value play, as Shai has scored 25 or more points in six of his past seven playoff games. Slap the More on SGA for Tuesday night at Sleeper Picks.
Pick: More
Jamal Murray (G – DEN): 14.5 points (alt line)
Murray has been solid in the postseason, but is still a far cry from Bubble Jamal, who looked like he would be an all-star staple for years to come. Murray is averaging 21.8 points per game on .470 shooting in the playoffs, dropping 15 or more points in nine of 11 games. He’s struggled a bit in this series but will be leaned on as a scorer once again as a key piece in the Nuggets potent starting five. Mash the More on Murray for Tuesday night’s NBA action.
Pick: More
Writers note: The lines are constantly changing on Sleeper (and sometimes expiring), so there is a high probability that one or all of the numbers may no longer be the same when you open your app. There are excellent values when they are first posted, with the only catch being that they are not all released at the same time. Vigilance could provide a solid return on investment this season, literally.
