Fantasy Football Draft Picks to Target

5.07: Aaron Jones (RB – MIN)

Aaron Jones became my RB2 (not thrilled with it), but he should see the majority of the snaps to start the season. His age (31) is a bit of a concern, but he has played 17 regular-season games in two of the last three years while racking up 1,500+ total yards with seven touchdowns last season.

6.06: Kaleb Johnson (RB – PIT)

Kaleb Jonson should have an impact right away in this Steelers offense. He has the physical attributes to be an every-down back and will fit extremely well in Arthur Smith’s zone-running scheme.

8.06: Jordan Mason (RB – MIN)

I wasn’t thrilled with having Aaron Jones as RB2, and as I mentioned, he is getting up there in age. Just in case we see Jones’ age start to set in, we take his 26-year-old handcuff in Jordan Mason.

Mason showed he can ball out when given the opportunity. While Christian McCaffrey was sidelined to start the 2024 season, Mason averaged 107 yards rushing over the first five games of the season before getting hurt himself.

9.07: T.J. Hockenson (TE – MIN)

T.J. Hockenson is undervalued. After his return to the field, he was TE16 in fantasy points per game, which doesn’t seem that great, but a lot of that is because he failed to score a single touchdown despite eight red-zone targets in 10 games.

According to our own Derek Brown, among 47 qualifying tight ends, Hockenson ranked 13th in target share (16.2%), eighth in receiving yards per game (45.5), 15th in yards per route run (1.56) and was fifth-best in first downs per route run.

10.06: Jayden Reed (WR – GB)

Getting a potential No. 1 WR in one of the best offenses in the league with the 10th pick is a steal. Jayden Reed suffered from the sophomore-year slump, but I am expecting a big bounce-back year. Packers pass-catchers had an awful year, leading the league in drops, but with the addition of Matthew Golden, we should see the offense take off.
