6 Players to Target in Devy Fantasy Football Leagues (2025)

6 Players to Target in Devy Fantasy Football Leagues (2025)

Welcome, devy fantasy football enthusiasts. With “Week 0” of college football less than three weeks away, the season is finally in sight. As the college football landscape takes shape, I’m excited to share some of my favorite buy-low targets in devy formats.

From what I’ve seen, I’m significantly higher than the market on these prospects, and I believe they have the potential for breakout 2025 seasons and long-term dynasty success. I’ll also provide my positional and overall rankings in Superflex for each player to help you gauge their trade value. Let’s dive into my top offseason buys.

Dynasty Draft Kit 2025

Offseason Devy Fantasy Football Buys

Jonah Coleman (RB – Washington)

  • Devy RB7
  • 28th Overall

For whatever reason, Jonah Coleman has a reputation in the devy community for being nothing more than a bruiser and a two-down grinder. They look at his 5-foot-9, 225-pound frame and assume there’s no way he could be a dynamic, explosive player, but this simply isn’t the case.

Out of 161 FBS running backs with 100+ rush attempts in 2024, Coleman ranked 13th in yards after contact per attempt (YCO/A), 12th in missed tackles forced (MTF) and sixth in elusiveness rating. He was also 12th in 10+ yard runs, with 38 of his 192 rush attempts going for 10+ yards. Coleman may not run a 4.40 40-yard dash, but he’s a highly efficient rusher who is tremendous after contact and elusive in the open field.

Coleman has done nothing but produce since his true sophomore season at Arizona, and I expect he’ll find similar success at the NFL level. Coleman should have a good shot at going Day 2 in the 2026 NFL Draft with another big season for the Huskies in 2025.

Bryson Washington (RB – Baylor)

  • Devy RB12
  • 38th Overall

Bryson Washington exploded onto the college football scene in 2024, rushing for over 1,000 yards and 12 touchdowns as a redshirt freshman for Baylor. Over 700 of his rushing yards came after contact, and he was a factor in the receiving game as well, hauling in 22 receptions for 217 yards and a touchdown. Washington turned it on at the end of the year, earning over 600 of his rushing yards and nine scores in a four-game span against TCU, West Virginia, Houston and Kansas.

Washington has reportedly put on another 10 pounds of lean mass this offseason and is now listed at 6-foot-0 and 216 pounds. He could declare for the 2026 NFL Draft if he builds on his production from last season, which I fully expect. Washington is starting to garner some attention in devy circles, but many still view him as a college fantasy football-only asset, so the buy window is still open. Buy him now, before he gets off to a blazing start in 2025.

Dane Key (WR – Nebraska)

  • Devy WR24
  • 60th Overall

Dane Key is one of my favorite receivers that nobody is talking about in devy. After a promising true freshman campaign at Kentucky, where Key posted over 500 receiving yards and five touchdowns, he’s been fairly underwhelming from a production standpoint since. Much of this can be attributed to the quarterback woes at Kentucky over the past two seasons. Key had Will Levis throwing him the football in 2022, in comparison to Devin Leary and Brock Vandagriff in 2023 and 2024. Levis was just a different caliber quarterback than these two.

However, when you dive deeper into the numbers, you find that Key was quite impressive from a per-route perspective in 2024. He posted a 31.7% target per run route rate (TPRR) and 2.47 yards per route run (YPRR), both very impressive marks that should excite us for fantasy purposes. He now heads to Nebraska, where he gets a massive quarterback upgrade in Dylan Raiola, and projects to be the No. 1 WR in this offense. Key is an athletic X-receiver with body control, spatial awareness and reliable hands. He has traits that are translatable to the NFL level; he just needs some quarterback consistency to truly hit his potential.

Eli Stowers (TE – Vanderbilt)

  • Devy TE5
  • 97th Overall

Eli Stowers had an improbable path to devy relevancy, beginning his career at Texas A&M as a quarterback. After making a positional change to tight end, Stowers transferred to New Mexico State, where he found some success. He then transferred to Vanderbilt, where he put his name on the map.

In 2024, Stowers recorded 49 receptions for 638 yards and five touchdowns, which was one of the more productive tight end seasons in the FBS last season. The current devy tight end landscape is a big question mark, and it’s certainly not out of the question that Stowers emerges as the TE1 of the 2026 draft class. The transition from quarterback to tight end confirms Stowers is a legitimate, versatile athlete. He’s someone I’ll be watching closely in 2025 and may be worth a dart throw in your devy leagues, given how cheap he is.

Lotzeir Brooks (WR – Alabama)

  • Devy WR21
  • 54th Overall

This buy recommendation is courtesy of DFF analyst Evan Kerr, who has been banging the drum for Lotzeir Brooks all offseason. I’ve finally hopped on the bandwagon here, and I like what I’ve seen thus far from the young man. Brooks is entering his true freshman season at Alabama and has already moved his way up the depth chart, as many beat writers are speculating he will carve out a role in Year 1.

Brooks is a twitchy athlete who can win at all three levels and has tremendous yards after the catch (YAC) ability. He has the start-stop ability and short-area quickness to create consistent separation from his defenders. Brooks is listed at 5-foot-9 and 190 pounds on Alabama’s roster, but I’d say he’s closer to 175. Size and play strength are my only real concerns here.

It is worth noting that Brooks reportedly suffered a non-contact injury and was seen wearing a boot at the practice facility recently, so his availability for the start of the season may be in question. However, from a long-term Devy perspective, I’m not concerned. Brooks is going to be a stud.

Cade Klubnik (QB – Clemson)

  • Devy QB8
  • 23rd Overall

Cade Klubnik has slowly been creeping up my Devy ranks since last season, and rightfully so. After a disappointing sophomore campaign, Klubnik bounced back in a big way in 2024, throwing for over 3,600 yards and 36 touchdowns. He’s now headed into his senior year at Clemson, where he is one of the favorites to win the Heisman Trophy.

The biggest question here is whether Klubnik’s surrounding cast is making him look better than he truly is. Klubnik has the luxury of throwing to three future NFL receivers: Antonio Williams, T.J. Moore and Bryant Wesco. Many fear Klubnik is nothing more than a good college quarterback and won’t get a real shot at starting on Sundays.

I’m no quarterback film guru, so I primarily rely on two pieces of information to gauge value on quarterbacks from a fantasy perspective: Rushing upside and draft capital. Klubnik provides a nice rushing floor, posting nearly 600 rushing yards and seven touchdowns on the ground in 2024. On NFL Mock Draft Database, Klubnik is the consensus number one overall prospect. Those two factors are enough for me to fully buy in.

Many are holding onto their priors with Klubnik, which could make his price tag incredibly affordable in devy. He feels like a very safe bet to go in round one of the 2026 NFL Draft and get a starting opportunity, which is invaluable in Superflex formats. Target Klubnik today and watch his devy value climb throughout the 2025 season.
