Let’s dive into my dynasty rookie draft content to help you prepare for your drafts!

Dynasty Rookie Quarterbacks

Cam Ward arrives in Tennessee and will be the face of the franchise moving forward. The Titans desperately need Ward to establish himself in 2025 and offer the team hope that they have the right player to lead them into the future. Ward’s game can be a highwire act down to down. There are plenty of high-end moments and special plays, but Ward also has plenty of misfires and can run through cold stretches in games. In his final collegiate season, he ranked fourth in yards per attempt and 12th in big-time throw rate, but he was also 22nd in pressure-adjusted completion rate and 32nd in clean pocket-adjusted completion rate (per PFF). Behind a questionable but hopefully ascending offensive line and a thin skill position depth chart, Ward could offer some spike week potential and streamable moments, but he’s likely only worth drafting this season in 2QB or Superflex redraft formats.

Dynasty Rookie Running Backs

No matter how you slice it, Ashton Jeanty is a top-five back out the gate. He has a true three-down skillset and should get all the volume that he can handle. He’s a tackle-breaking maven. A skill that I have no doubt will translate to the NFL. Across his final two collegiate seasons, Jeanty ranked first and third in yards after contact per attempt and first and second in elusive rating (per PFF). Las Vegas will feature the run prominently, and Jeanty’s receiving upside gives him an insane ceiling for 2025. During Chip Kelly’s tenure in the NFL, his offenses have never ranked lower than 11th in rushing attempts. Also, during Kelly’s four years as an NFL offensive coordinator, in three of those seasons, his backfields had a 16.6-17.7% target share, but he also flooded his Philly backfield with targets in 2015 (28.7%). Jeanty could push for near the top end of that range. In 2023, he ranked first in receiving grade and second in yards per route run. Jeanty is primed for a rookie season that could rival Saquon Barkley’s rookie year.

Dynasty Rookie Wide Receivers

The Panthers finally gave Bryce Young a true WR1 this season with their selection of Tetairoa McMillan. The Carolina Panthers selected McMillan inside the top ten in the NFL Draft. McMillan could be a wonderful volume hog this year in what looks to be an ascending passing offense. Last year, in Weeks 12-18, when Young was hitting his stride, the Panthers ranked 13th in neutral passing rate. We could see that number increase this year with a true number one option leading the way. Last year, during that same stretch, Young ranked eighth in CPOE, fifth in deep throw rate, 12th in highly accurate throw rate, and second in hero throw rate (per Fantasy Points Data). McMillan is an incredibly talented receiver who can step up quickly. During his final two collegiate seasons, he ranked 17th and 21st in yards per route run. He’s a battle-tested man coverage beater as well. In 2023-2024, McMillan had the third-most and the tenth-most man coverage targets (among FBS wide receivers) while also ranking eighth and tenth in yards per route run against man coverage (per PFF). Don’t be surprised if McMillan is a WR1/2 in his rookie season.

Dynasty Rookie Tight Ends

Tyler Warren got the ballyhooed first-round draft capital that we all figured he would. The landing spot is rough, though. Indy has a ton of talented pass-catching options that will push Warren weekly for target volume. Michael Pittman and Josh Downs presumably will be above him in the target pecking order. I still love Warren as a player, but I’m worried that he could struggle to live up to the hype that his talent has deserved. The passing volume, quarterback play, and receiving depth chart are all big-time concerns for his 2025 outlook. Last year, Indy had the third-lowest passing rate inside the red zone and in neutral game environments. During his final collegiate season, Warren ranked in the top three among tight ends in yards per route run, receiving grade, missed tackles forced, and yards after the catch (per PFF). Warren is a TE2 that could easily finish as a TE1.
