4 Devy Fantasy Football Risers & Fallers (2025)

4 Devy Fantasy Football Risers & Fallers (2025)

Week 2 of the college football season delivered high-stakes matchups, shocking upsets and standout performances from players across the country. In this weekly breakdown, we examine the aftermath of the weekend’s action, spotlighting the biggest devy fantasy football risers and fallers in the college football landscape.

The devy format, created in the 1990s by Scott Fish, who is best known for the infamous Scott Fish Bowl, is rapidly gaining traction as one of the most exciting formats in fantasy football. Often described as a “dynasty league on steroids,” devy fantasy football allows managers to draft and stash college players well before they declare for the NFL Draft.

The devy format demands deeper research and sharper projections than a traditional dynasty league, but we’re here to help you navigate it every step of the way. Each week, we’ll highlight the most significant value shifts based on NCAA action and what it means moving forward.

When we talk about risers, we’re referring to players whose value has climbed due to strong on-field performance. For fallers, the picture is more complex. Injuries, reduced playing time and other situational factors can all contribute to a drop in perceived value.

Devy Fantasy Football Risers & Fallers

Devy Risers

Dante Moore (QB – Oregon)

Dante Moore has quickly emerged as one of the top players in college football, thanks to a scorching start as Oregon’s new QB1. After transferring from UCLA and redshirting behind Dillon Gabriel in 2024, Moore seized the starting role and immediately showcased the arm talent and poise that made him a five-star recruit.

In his first two starts, he completed 34-of-44 passes for 479 yards and six touchdowns without a turnover, leading the Ducks to dominant wins over Montana State and Oklahoma State. His ability to push the ball downfield, especially on deep shots to explosive targets like true freshman Dakorien Moore, has elevated his stock in devy circles and positioned him as a future NFL prospect with high-end upside.

Romello Brinson (WR – SMU)

Wide receiver Romello Brinson is emerging as a devy riser, finally delivering on the promise he showed as a four-star recruit out of Miami Northwestern. Now 23 years old, Brinson’s path has been anything but linear.

Brinson spent two seasons at Miami with minimal production before transferring to SMU, where he posted 431 yards and two touchdowns in 2023. He battled a nagging knee injury last season, finishing the year with just 135 yards receiving and no touchdowns.

Now healthy, Brinson is on pace for a career year with the Mustangs. He has 11 receptions for 247 yards and three touchdowns through two games. He has topped 100+ receiving yards in each contest, showcasing his game-breaking speed and body control.

While his age and late breakout may keep him off some draft boards, devy managers willing to look past these potential red flags may find value in his blend of pedigree, athleticism and late-stage development.

Devy Fallers

Nico Iamaleava (QB – UCLA)

Nico Iamaleava’s devy stock continues to plummet after a rough couple of games at UCLA. After transferring from Tennessee with high expectations, the former five-star quarterback struggled in his first two starts, completing just 40-of-63 passes for 391 yards, two touchdowns and two interceptions in losses to Utah and UNLV.

While Iamaleava still possesses elite physical traits and a strong arm, his early performance has cooled the hype that once placed him among the top devy quarterbacks. For devy managers, he’s now more of a long-term project than an immediate breakout candidate.

Jaydn Ott (RB – Oklahoma)

After a disappointing start to his Oklahoma career, Jaydn Ott’s devy value is at an all-time low. Through two games, Ott has logged just six yards on five carries — a stark contrast to his previous workhorse role at Cal.

Despite having over 3,000 career yards and 30 touchdowns on his resume, Ott opened the 2025 season listed as the Sooners’ third-string running back behind Jovantae Barnes and freshman Tory Blaylock. A shoulder injury limited his availability during fall camp, allowing Barnes and Blaylock to seize early reps and impress coaches with their performance.

For devy managers, Ott now profiles more as a low-end stash than a future starter. Past injuries and a lack of opportunities cloud his short- and long-term outlook. His early-season usage underscores how far he’s fallen from his former feature-back status.
