4 Devy Fantasy Football Risers & Fallers (2025)

4 Devy Fantasy Football Risers & Fallers (2025)

Week 4 of the college football season delivered high-stakes matchups, shocking upsets and standout performances from players across the country. In this weekly breakdown, we examine the aftermath of the weekend’s action, spotlighting the biggest devy fantasy football risers and fallers in the college football landscape.

Created by Scott Fish in the 1990s, the devy format is rapidly gaining traction as one of the most exciting formats in fantasy football. Often described as a “dynasty league on steroids,” devy fantasy football allows managers to draft and stash college players well before they declare for the NFL Draft.

The devy format demands deeper research and sharper projections than a traditional dynasty league, but we’re here to help you navigate it every step of the way. Each week, we’ll highlight the most significant value shifts based on NCAA action and what it means moving forward.

When we talk about risers, we’re referring to players whose value has climbed due to strong on-field performance. For fallers, the picture is more complex. Injuries, reduced playing time and other situational factors can all contribute to a drop in perceived value.

Devy Fantasy Football Risers & Fallers

Devy Risers

Fernando Mendoza (QB – Indiana)

Indiana quarterback Fernando Mendoza is emerging as a devy riser after transferring from Cal and delivering a string of standout performances to open the 2025 season. On Saturday, he dismantled Big Ten rival Illinois, completing 21-of-23 passes for 267 yards and five touchdowns in a 63-10 blowout victory.

It was his second straight game with five scores and fewer than three incompletions, further solidifying his rise in college football and fantasy circles. The week prior against Indiana State, Mendoza went 19-of-20 for 270 yards and five passing touchdowns, adding a rushing score in a 73-0 rout that set a program record for single-game completion percentage.

Through four games, Mendoza has thrown for 975 yards and 14 touchdowns without an interception. He has completed nearly 77% of his passes and added two rushing scores. His efficiency and command of the offense under Curt Cignetti and Mike Shanahan have caught the attention of devy analysts, who are reevaluating his long-term ceiling based on his poise, accuracy and production.

Chris Brazzell II (WR – Tennessee)

Tennessee wide receiver Chris Brazzell II is rapidly climbing NFL and devy draft boards after a breakout performance against Georgia that showcased his elite physical tools and playmaking ability. The 6-foot-5 junior erupted for 177 yards and three touchdowns on just six catches, dominating one of the nation’s top defenses with a mix of vertical speed, body control and contested catch ability.

Brazzell followed it up with five catches for 62 yards and a touchdown against UAB, continuing to flash reliable hands and red-zone value in Tennessee’s 56-24 win. Brazzell has totaled 426 yards and six touchdowns through four games, already surpassing his production from last season.

Brazzell’s blend of size, acceleration and route fluidity has made the Tulane transfer a favorite target in Josh Heupel’s high-tempo offense, and his ability to win against top-tier competition is turning heads across the scouting community.

Devy Fallers

Austin Simmons (QB – Ole Miss)

Austin Simmons’ devy outlook has taken a hit after a shaky start and a recent injury that has kept him off the field. The Ole Miss quarterback threw four interceptions in his first two games, including two against Georgia State and two more against Kentucky.

While he showed flashes of arm talent, his turnover issues raised concerns about his decision-making and consistency. Then Simmons aggravated an ankle injury against Arkansas and has been sidelined since, opening the door for Ferris State transfer Trinidad Chambliss.

In relief, Chambliss has impressed with back-to-back standout performances, throwing for 353 yards and scoring three total touchdowns in his SEC debut, followed by 307 passing yards, 112 rushing yards and two scores against Tulane.

With Simmons sidelined and Chambliss thriving in his place, Ole Miss may be on the verge of a quarterback controversy that should have devy managers reevaluating Simmons’ long-term value.

Micah Hudson (WR – Texas Tech)

Micah Hudson’s devy stock continues to plummet following a rocky offseason and minimal production to start 2025. After transferring from Texas Tech to Texas A&M and then back again within two months, the former five-star receiver has struggled to carve out a role in an explosive Red Raiders offense.

Through four games this season, Hudson has just three catches for 31 yards and zero touchdowns. Despite his elite pedigree, he remains buried on the depth chart and has yet to show signs of a breakout.

Hudson is likely a hold in devy formats, as his value has bottomed out, and selling now would offer little return. With elite traits and time to regain his form, he still carries long-term upside.
